Hi All

Had a great time fishing yesterday . but have noticed a slight problem with my reels... when the carp take the hook and went for it taking the line ... my reel didnt make that clicking noise as it went out .... have i broken it?.... to make matters worse i changed reels and the same thing happened.... i have played with the drag setting (rear settings) and everything but have i set up wrong.

many thanks Jace

I don't think I have every had a reel that routinely 'clicked' as a fish took line against the drag. My larger multipliers have a setting that allows for a clicking noise when the reel is otherwise in freespool but that can be set off for casting and on for waiting on a run.

Are you talking about baitrunner type reels ( free spool reels that allow fish to take line while the rods are on a pod etc ) or normal fixed spool reels?
