landing nets

i was just wondering if this landing net would be ok for landing carp in between 8 - 15lbs?

I am not a great fan of telescopic poles/handles. I have had a couple and they have broke, i guess you could land a 8-15lb carp in that net. But I would be tempted to spend a couple more pennys and buy a half decent net and handle.

 

At the end of the day if you have played a nice fish in you do not want to lose him to a your net breaking. Also there is the fact that you have to consider the fishes health, saw a net and handle break and the fish came off worst, was not pretty.

 

This is only my opinion of course, so yes you could probably land it in that one but i would spend a few more pennies and get a half decent one, for the sake of the fish

I wouldnt even go there imo fella. Spend a few extra pennys. If you havn't got money to spend on kit then this cheap 42" carp landing net might interest you:

Check the rules of the water you fish on also, some have rules that for carp you need at least a 42" net and a few say 39", I would all ways stick to a 42".

That net is woofully too small. For carp you need big arms and a deep net. With the net you have there you'd really struggle getting a fish out of the water safely onto the unhooking mat - I assume you have one of those ?
