It has been on my doorstep since 1998

My good lady has been on about visiting "the angel" for ages.Saturday seen the sun emerge and not much else on so we picked up my sister-in-law and away I drove. Was actually well impressed when I got there.

 

I am not too keen on "modern art" but this one pulled my string!!

 

What do you think about it??

After the Angel and on the way back to Whitley Bay we called in at Saltwell Park.It was my old stamping ground as a child and had been awarded a £6.9 million lottery grant for improvements.All I can say is it is well worth a visit if you are ever in the Gateshead area.

Good pics mate, got to agree with you about the sculpture but the Angel--not my cup of tea im afraid.

Some nice shots here Snatcher !!

 

I when up to see the "Newcastle Flasher" some years ago, and had great difficulty fitting the whole thing into the frame because of the lack of space around the sculpture !!

 

If memory serves me right, you must have been sat on a barbed-wire fence to get some of your shots !!

The area around the angel has been enlarged and landscaped for the large number of tourists it now attracts.

 

Much easier to take pictures of it now boss
