Sometimes even though the prevailing conditions may not have changed, the turning of a tide against the wind can have a dramatic effect on sea conditions. Off flamboro where we fish we get some vicious tides and the difference between the ebb and flood on a 10mph easterly wind can turn from a gentle chop to a raging monster in less than an hour !!
