I just wondered how many sea yak fishers carry on though the winter?

I will be, and most of the guys who post regularly i would imagine will also do so - with more success than I!

 

I was at sea on Sunday and up-river yesterday.

Probably give the night sessions a rest when the water temp goes below 10C, by that time there'll nothing much to catch down here anyway.

Love the winter fishing as much as summer. Cod, Whiting and Ray's for me untill end of Jan then it goes quiet.

What to wear is a good start,- seamanship- fitness- skill levels in wind and choppy water is another.

Dont know how much youve done, but hope this helps.

Personally I love winter fishing. Particularly at night; as GB says it gets difficult from Jan to Mar but I still get out just for the craic.
