Runswick Bay

We launched from Runswick yesterday (Sunday) and spent the day fishing around the edges of the bay. Initail we had a few hours on the plugs for bass but spent most of our time dodging the surf as the south west wind kept pushing on the top of the reef/gulley we were fishing. With little success we backed out about half a mile and did some uptiding. One of our party was into some good fish with a decent codling of around 4 pounds folled by a nice wrasse, a pouting then a decent pollock which was in excess of 7 pounds. The weather was beautiful which is a nice change. Lets hope for some more nice days in the coming months so we can get at the big autumn cod.
