Adding Text To Images

I give up with PSP.

 

I need a SIMPLE way of adding texts to images. i.e. captions to photos, words on navigation buttons, etc.

 

Is there a free programme out there that will do just that? I don't need or want anything more from it.

There's not much between them really. I'd say Paint Net, though the other two are probably more user friendly.

Serif photoplus aint bad. Its simple and easy to use.

And xara webstyle has some good features especially for buttons but you only get a free trial.
