Broke my trusty rod, need a new one :(

Well last night I started checking out my tackle (Ok, stop giggling) for a session on the Wharfe today, my first time on the bank for longer than I care to remember, and I noticed that my trusty Super Specialist Avon rod has been squished at some point, probably in one of the house moves it's endured lately.

So, I'm looking for advice on a replacement, seen recent comments on the Grauvell 1lb2 oz rod, anyone using these and got any comments? I fancy something multi tip, for general river use (by which I really mean legering and trotting)

Thanks in advance for any advice you kind people have to offer.....

Oh and if anyone's got anything to sell, I'm always up for a second hand bargain!

The greys barbel rods are well made/good value and they look smart, maybe the 1.5 test would suit you ?

Why dont you look at the Fox Duo Lite Avon rod its 12ft !lb test curve and I think it would be an ideal replacement.

I use a c64-3ethe Fox duo lite specialist rod 1/2 lb test curve and it is brilliant on the small rivers in Kent but I think you will need a bit more backbone for the Wharfe just in case a Barbel turns up.

Both rods have a standard hollow top and a quiver top with four quiver tips the avon model having glass tips of 1oz, 1.5oz and 2oz plus a 1oz carbon tip.

You should be able to pick one up on the web for £80 and they also do a Duo Lite Barbel at 1.53b test.

I'm enjoying mine. Bear in mind the the 1 2oz cones with 0.75oz, 1.5oz & 3oz quiver tips which is what I wanted for targeting Perch and Chub

There are others in the range...

I don't know how they compared to the Fox or the Neoteric.

I've got the Fox Duo Lite Avon 1lb too and love it to bits.

Had some Carp and big Tench on it in the summer and it handled them no probs. I like it for heavy float fishing but it makes a great feeder rod too.

I; like Tigger; would recomend the Greys Prodigy rods which are excellent rods which come with a lifetime warranty, (unless I win the lottery and then I would probably try Harrisons). :D

I like the Greys Rods, but it was the lack of a quiver tip option that swung me in favour of the Fox Duo Lites.
