You can buy a graphite aerosol spray from tackle shops but apply lightly with small blasts, too thick and you may have to rub down with wet and dry.

The graphite spray is marketed by Leeda and is used by pole fishermen to build up the joints as repeated coupling and unshipping leads to the same problems you're having.

Dont know if you'll get any in Whitby but Keith may have some, there was some for sale in Redcar not too long ago.

Good luck;will ask in local shops just in case

@summer@ - since your other thread sounds like you are going to have some rings remounted, a tight whipping over the female joint will compress it a bit and tighten it up nicely for you so the same person could do that rod.

if the rod is being rebuilt the builder will do a proper job by cutting down the female section before re whipping the joint!

as for adding a (tight whipping) what a lash up :rolleyes:
