If you have a 484c and be happy to part with it for some cash, I'd be definitely interested...

You will be lucky to get a 484C Boris rarer than rocking horse droppings which I suppose makes a 484CS rarer than rocking horse droppings with hens teeth!!!

For fishing/casting though the MkII 484 (without the cork handle) and even better the 464 (same blank but with coaster fittings) are a lot easier to get hold of for a few quid and still great rods.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of an inheritance.... I'm just sad that I got rid of mine. I used to just love my 484c matched with a 7000 multiplier - was a great system and been looking around all the new stuff on the market and just can't find anything better. If you have any suggestions as to a modern system that can match it, that would be affordable, I'd be really grateful. I'm kind of out of touch as you can probably tell...

Boris, good luck with the rod hunt.

I just wanted to drop in and warn you not to ever take chesters1 too seriously. One rod split among his 17 children wasn't going to be easy and he'd probably be glad to avoid it.

 I might still have my 484 CS in the garage, I don't remember selling it, but then it might have been nicked when I moved, along with some other things, thieving removal men.
