they can and do ,not so much over here nowadays but readily available in most countries as with most other freshwater fish.

what is a powered vessel ? a sailing boat using the wind as a form of power or a boat using an engine as power ,remembering sailing boats also use engines :confused: is it the sole form of propulsion thats cosidered ,are those brown sailed fishing boats exempted from legislation and free to sell whatever theve caught :confused:

I only eat Barbel but I have to admit taking more than 3 per session is a bit unsporting.

tench are widely eaten, as are perch, pike and zander. which are by far the tastiest.its only in the u.k that they are not regarded as food.

i just take the eyes and chuck them back ,a lb of eyes tastes better than cavier,they survive because they have barbules and feel their food although i take those as well dry them and use them as tooth picks
