  1. S Sour C Cream O On P Pineapple EX Exceptional I've also heard that it was based on sweetcorn and butter. Only one person really knows and I can't see Rod posting it up
  2. You're always going to find good and bad reports, its all somebodies personal opinion. When most people write a cheque to go fishing in France they think they're paying to catch, when they're not, they're paying for a chance to catch. Every venue will have hard/bad weeks, maybe the fish are spawning, maybe there has been a sudden clod snap. Maybe the fellas that wrote the report are not good anglers My advice would be to know your limits and select a venue that fits you. If you're not massively experinced then don't choose a big fish water, a runs water might be better. If you're after big fish then don't select a venue with 1 50lb+ fish, select one with a good stock of big fish. If you're not a big caster than maybe a smaller lake will be better.
  3. I've had a good Rudd on a Mepps, cleanly hooked in the mouth.
  4. Hi Guys Maybe you can help as I'm more than a little confused. I'm after a rod for fishing a small river, its about 3 rod lengths wide, fairly snag free and 30g will hold bottom. I will mainly be fishing for chub, there are barbel in the river but there aren't many and they don't run big, 6lb is a very good fish and 8lb+ fish of a season. I'm after a rod, must have a quivertip or a quivertip section, that will not leave me feeling overgunned for the chub, as thats what I'll be catching most of, but will give me a chance of landing a barbel in a snag free swim. I've been looking at Avon style rods must most seem 1.75lb TC and upwards which seems far to heavy, I've also been looking at medium feeder rods but will they have the power? Has anybody used the Greys prodigy TX twintip 1.25lb?
  5. All Dogs come from Wolves, look at the size difference between a Wolf, Yorky and a Great Dane. Maybe the same can be done with Carp. As for artifical carp, with the amount of boilies and pellets going into lakes these days, are there any "natural" carp left? Most large carp owe some of their weight to the boilie. Ain`t much difference who feeds the fish the angler or the fish farmer.
  6. Can be if you can find the right venue. Generally you want a shallow, weed free and well stocked venue. You will always get venues that break the mould and this is where doing you homework helps. Having said that i go pike fishing in the winter
  7. Not really for 99% of fishing situations. kinda makes a difference at extreme range and the best stuff will add yards to a cast IF you can get the best out of it.
  8. Keep it simple and always safe. Find a water where you will catch alot of fish, you will learn more and quicker with feedback from the fish. Its best to learn how to handle and play modest fish before searching for that monster. Dont keep choping and changing rigs and bait, give them time to work. the most important bit of advice is to enjoy your fishing. good luck and welcome to the addiction that is carp fishing
  9. Nutrabaits techni spice or bright pop ups particularly pineapple. Tend to fish both as singles.
  10. I have always used 15lb clear big game, cant beat it. Tried the florocarbon mainlines, found that i have problems with line twist. Also with the florocarbons ive found they pick up alot of bits of stuff when on an overnighter and that the appear more visable than the big game. Always used 25lb braid hooklenghts and never had a problem, just make sure that the rig is safe and the lead canbe lost.
  11. Congrats fella, keep up the good work. Remember that each fish is special!!
  12. Bacon grill also works well. Same sort of idea, meat in a can.
