  1. Thanks, Gozzer, for the great link. I've made a quick check already and it seems to be very informative, not just about the Lake District, but also about Wales and Scotland. I also thank you for the information about your personal fishing experience of the Lake District. And I thank you, Phil, for the information about the Lake District and for my first information about Scotland. That's what I've been waiting for. 15 kg pike, or maybe more, in Lake Windmere. I would like to catch a fish like that. And I love aquariums, that would make a nice Holiday. It seems to be fun fishing in scotland too. I'll try to find some more information about the fortingall hotel at Glen Lyon and about and about Loch Tay in the internet. I like to fish at places with only a few tourists around, I ment non fishing tourists, of course. I've never seen or heared a red dear mate, must be interesting, but only if they're not interested in me! Thank you both again, that was very informative. Now I've got a few holidayplaces in the UK in store. Hi Dave. That shure is impressive, it's stunning.
  2. Thanks, Peter, for explaining Rabbits sentence for me. I was not offended in any way by that comment of world war two. I just didn't know what he ment. Like you said, it took place, and I must edit, it was our fault, that it occcured and many people had to lose so senseless their lifes. I also had no idea, that privies are national treasures. We, here in Germany, are glad there gone, even though, I must admit, it's nostalgic, kind of nice to conserve them.
  3. Hi Neil, good morning to you too. It's reylly nice, that everybody tries to explain the word "Privvy" for me. Thanks for given me all the diffrent slang meanings for Privvy, we in Germany say "Scheißhaus" or "Latrine", but I'm shure there are many more, even in german. Isn't that nice to have this chat with breakfast. You wrote: I have to say Patty that it was the Luftwaffe that saw the demise of many of these fine buildings, especially in the London area. May be stupid of me to ask, but what did you mean by that? We had pottys here too, in the old days. Thank god those times are over, in that way. You wrote: More research by me has turned up the pot that was used to be an almost exact replica of the one that Newt was modelling. It is indeed a strange world where truth is indeed stranger than fiction That'll take some time to fill that up with ...! But you didn't answer the question from my last post on you. I would like to see a picture of your catches. Maybe I also see you in it, that would be nice. Come on, you must have some! And please tell me more about fishing in your area. Hi Ian, nice to hear from you again. I'm glad, that you answered my questions. Of course I'm genuine. I like to make fun and joke around, but I really want to come to fish to the Uk, and in the long run we want to move there. I want to find out everything I can, and have a little bit fun on the way. I've looked the lake district up in google, and I knew right away that this countryside was shaped by the ice age. To bad, that fishing there is nearly impossible. Wales is a beautyful country too, just like scotland. So please, you fisherman from wales and scotland tell me something about fishing in your country, about the people and the culture there. Thanks again Ian, I'm very grateful! Hi Andy, nice to meet you. I hope he does, because I've got a crush on Peter too.
  4. I see, lovely! I would love to see that. Oh, I'm shure they do fit the bill. And I'm also shure that there are some british and american women, who could come their cheast too. I've met those kind of men-eaters in every country I've stayed in. As it is for me. I rather leave the hairy cheast to the men and I prefer to eat Toast for breakfast, slightly buttered!
  5. Thanks for making me remember Malteezer. I ate them before, nice chocolate.
  6. Nice done, congatulations! You've got pictures of your catches?
  7. You all are lovely cracy, I enjoy this topic very much, well some of my multiple personalities. That way, I never feel lonely. I like chocolate frogs, eat them for breakfast - hmmmmm! Hi Janet, nice to have you playing too. Let's play: 4 Must be true, I've done that myself, when I was a little girl, that's why I have multiple personalities now. 3 Sounds like the lie, braking a rod casting out two maggots, that's why it must be true. 2 Why should you have not breeded Zebra finches, it's maybe a bit uncomfortable, sitting on those eggs, but you have to sit on two anyway, a few more didn't make a diffrence. 1 I've seen in google, that a PB tench is a fish and I suppose, that a Malteezer is a bait, that wouldn't usually catch this fish. So that could have happend. I caught a litle carp with spinner - unfortunaltely hooking it in the back. So I'll pick 1, since I don't know, what a Malteezer is.
  8. You fellas are great. Reading this in the morning makes a funny start in a day. Thanks! Hi Neil, so very good to have you back in the topic. Missed you. To answer your questions - siriously - Yes, we do have little cups in our gardens, but there are coffeecups, little Rabbits live in there, with big ears and even bigger feet. Would you like me to place one for you in my garden? You've just won the other half of the bet. I don't have a clue what "Privvys" are. Come on little Rabbit, let me know. Writing about letting me know: Tell me more about fishing in your area. What was your biggest catch? You have any picture of your catches? Hi Peter, I'm shure Newt would look lovely with wings and he would fly with elegance and grace, beeing one meter high. Hi Gozzer, Now don't tell me you don't want to see Newts fine physique. There is nothing more lovely to look at, then a hairy breast, isn't there? See you in "Spot the lie"!
  9. Eccentric? You make curious now, because I have no idea. In what way Unlock the sectrets of Gozzer for me, oh please do.
  10. Hi Newt, I must say too, that you look stunning. Where in the world did you find that little teacup. It's lovely. Peter, you explained the diffrence between me and Newt very beautifully. I could not have said it better.
  11. Congratulations to your catches , even if it's a bit late. So we have something in common. I started last year too, well at the end of last year. And I only caught one fish yet, it was a 75 cm pike with a spinner. I've posted the picture of the pike in my first topic. I like spinning very much, especially for pike and zander, but I also tried to catch barbels with maggots. My hubby and I drive often to the river Rhein or we fish in a little lake, that we leased. The Rhein is about an hour drive away from where I live, but it's a nice big water, with big fish in it, that I haven't caught yet; but I don't give up. I really hope that the guys and the girls here in the forum give me some good tips.
  12. I can not speak for Peter, Neil and Leon, even though it would be nice, if they would join us, but I'm in for shure. So now John must post his facts. Lets go!
  13. So John and I were right. Which one of us is telling three secrets and one lie now. I've had some good ones. You have to deside, fellas.
  14. Hi Janet, nice to receive a post from you again. I hope I've captivated them, there all so nice, and it's so much fun to chat with them, but we always have room for one more fisherwoman, come on join in. Where do you prefer to fish? And how long are you fishing? What was your biggest catch?
  15. That's good to know. And I like Newt too. He's very nice.
  16. Patrizia

    hi all

Hi Kier, Welcome to the anglersnet. I'm also a newcomer on this forum, for a few days now, and german. I can tell you, that everybody is very nice here and helpful. Have a good time here - like I do, Patrizia Edit: Where are you from, and for how long are you fishing? What's your favorite place to fish?
  17. Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! I hope, you still like me now, me the german with an american slang.
  18. I'de like to, but there is no more number left to take. So my secrets are not to be revealed. But if I could, I would take 4, because, I would never believe, that anybody could survive that. So it must be the lie. Makes no sence, I know, but I would still go for number 4.
  19. thanks for that compliment, Peter. I'll try my best, and I feel sorry for poor Newt, that I took those words right out of his mouth, and that will probably happen more often. I've lived in the states for a few years and I suppose the american slang is still in the back of my head. Only the good lord knows, what I come up with next.
  20. Hi John, Captain Kirk at his best. I never knew, that I wanted to see him sing and dance - a real funny Trekkie. Patrizia
  21. Sorry to interrupt, but I had to tell you, how much fun it is to read this Please keep it up, it's very entertaining. Patrizia
  22. Hi Ian, so nice to receive a post from you again. Thought, you had forgotten me. Wow, I'm overwhelmed, you put basically a complete holidayplan together for me. Thanks!!! And also for the links, very interesting and informative. Worcestershire is a very tempting place, I must admit, and I will visite, that's for shure, just don't know when yet. Like I said, it's hard for me to make concrete plans at the moment, unfortunately, becaus of the novel. But I will show up there, that's for shure. The countryside is so gorgeous there. The Chequers Inn looks very inviting, very british. Reminds me of the Inn in the Miss Marple movie "Murder most foul". And I've never seen anything like Cropthorne Mill. How could the ever build a house so close to the water? I would like to life in it, then I could fish out of the bedroom window - aperfekt combination. It's not just stunning house, it's also lovely to look at. Those dancing groups are really cool. I must see that life. Nice costumes. You' re very lucky, that you live in that area. Did you ever take a trip to scotland, to fish there? Until now I haven't found out, how it is to fish in a loch. And did you ever went fishing in the lake district? I still have so much to find out about britain and about fishing in your country. Thanks again for finding a great place to visite for me. I appriciate that very much. Your very kind. Patrizia Edit: I just read in your profile your post about the "Top 10 Weird Laws". I can't believe it, how strange some cultures are. I think I must start to take a look at the "non fishing chat" too, seems interesting. Do you have pictures of your catches, would interest me. Ps.: I would still be a virgin today, if my mother had to be present, when I had my first time.
  23. Hi Chris, I caught my little pike with a spinner. I have never used dead-baits before, but now I'll try Sardines and Herrings. If it works in britain, why shouldn't it work also in Germany. Yes I do love nature passionately, in fact I've just got back from a visit to a badger's sett. I've been feeding them peanuts close to the sett and I'm hoping to be lucky enough to photograph them at some point. I already thought, that you would be a hobby-photographer, when I saw your pictures of nature. You do have talent. After you take the picture of the badger, I'm shure you'll capture it on camera, please let me see it. Do you have many badgers in britain? I have never seen one in nature here in Germany, unfortunately. There are not enough badgers around.
  24. Thanks, Peter, for given me your daughters stage name. Hope I can see her some day on stage. I'll keep my eyes open for a gig of her. It must be exiting to work in a circus, playing violine on a trapez. Wow, how wild is that. She must be fearless. Seems to be a cool girl, your daughter. Cool like her Dad! About your picture. Horror? Not at all. You look very nice, I must say. And Lowestoft seems to be a beautyful town. By the way, cool video, that was a funny tour of your hometown. Made me laugh. I like sea towns. Looks like you're a real sea-baer. That's what we Germans call people, who live on the border of the sea. I've looked Suffolk up in google. It's a beautyful county, must be nice to fish there. I suppose, since you life on the channel, that you also go fishing there. How is it to fish in the channel? What's been caught there? Yours, Patty
  25. Oh, I love to listen to violines, that's so classic. You must be very proud. I also like jazz very much. Maybe I can hear your daughter play some day, I would like that, since she has gigs in Germany. May I ask for the name of her band? Here is a link to the village, I live in. www.gemeinde-hottenbach.de/. Unfortunately there are not many pictures in it. Here is another link of Hottenbachwww.hunsrueckreise.de/H/Hottenbach-Hunsrueck.html , with more pictures of Hottenbach and the area I live in. This link shows you the area, where I live http://www.hunsruecktouristik.de/ We germans call this part of our country the "hunsrück". Hope you enjoy the tour. How about your hometown, any links?
