  9. Well the time has finally arrived,my 9 year year old is going "full time" and now it's time to get him his own tackle instead of using mine. what I have in mind for him is 2 x Shimano Hyperloops, 2 Okuma free spool reels.... Anyone point me in the direction of an online shop who has these, and who is cheeper than most... thanks guys.....
  10. I stay away from diamond eyed swivels. When the knot is tied( even very carefully) and pressure is put on it,it strangles the line putting a lot of strain on a very small space.Result = broken line at the knot.Better going for round eyed swivels and put the line through the eye twice. This spreads out the force on the knot, making it far more reliable.. This also applies to any wire that is used for tying up pike traces... Alternatively use a palomar knot,100% reliable if tied properly....
  11. I'll 4th that, their stuff is good. Mini hallibut pellets are fantastic....
  12. If you are fishng Willi's ,the Tench in there have seen it all before..Try good aul cheese paste, the smellier the better.Or go for 10mm boilies,Tutti Frutti,or one of the fishmeals should see you catching....Tight ones...Des
  13. Hi WTNB O.K.?????...anyway last time I heard, the N.I. Carp Society were looking to take over the Lough, and then I did hear that they will be,did take it over. They have been doing regular clean ups of the lake, much to the approval of the local residents.Fair play and good luck to them. The place used to look like a tip at times.I haven't been up in about 3 years,so can,t really give you up to the minute info on the lake. Why not go to their website and e-mail the secretary( there's a link on it for e-mailing)and ask him for more up to date information.Try Google for the website address.Sorry it is so scant, but have lost touch with the local info on Willis's......

Need I say more?.Think not.Bobbyf is a clued up visitor to our shores. The sad thing is that it will continue, year in year out and sod all done about it no matter what the Pikers say,or Coarse anglers for that matter. Can you imagine if this behaviour was carried out by the E.A on the likes of The Trent,Stour,,Yately,or Conninbrook and the likes.

  24. If any of you are thinking of visiting Ireland for your annual fishing holiday, particularly The Shannon region,I would suggest that you check out the web site of The Irish Pike Society, www.irishpikesociety.com and see just exactly what the Shannon Fisheries Board think of the very fish that you are traveling over to try and catch.I think you will be surprised, and totally disgusted.
