  1. Along with the other comments I think the river fish are bigger due to the influx of the cormorant to fresh waters. These are eating the small fish leaving more space and natural food for the older fish which grow bigger. Sounds daft but just a thought
  2. Its not a lot to pay for a licence really. I think more efforts should be made to catch the lot who dont buy one. Why not just have a general licence? Instead of just for the EA. The licence was mainly for the rivers but there is so much carp fishing on still waters these days that it has to cover that too. I for one havent been checked this year, but think we should all have to caryy one.
  3. Looking to fish the Coppermill Stream at Tottenham on Sunday. Does any of you highly experienced folk know anything about it? Looking to catch some quality Barbel and Chub on there but if anyone knows of anywhere else that is a day ticket all help would be appreciated. Cheers Ian
  4. Well if I wanted to count it I would have mentioned the rather large crayfish that swollowed my cheese paste and hook at Dobb's Weir, so i didnt blank as such. It didnt raise the pulse though
  5. Cheers for the helps fellas. As regards to the Stort, is it day tickets, if so where from?Or collect on the bank? I often travel to the Upper Thames where we have had some luck, but need somewhere local to try. Thanks again
  6. Further to the above, we fish for Chub and Barbel in Rivers and Weir pools. Any areas to fish would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

  21. Contrary to my early morning optimism, caught only one 3lb chub at Penton Hook Lock and that was it!! My mate got nothing. The Thames was rushing through so quick we had to attach a house brick as a ledger weight.I knew it all looked so good with blue sky and sunshine. And for the record Im not a match angler. Just for the fun of the sport.
