  1. If Basildon's not too far away, have a look at Gloucester Park. www.micktoomer.co.uk
  2. Your help needed. I am organising our annual fishing beano here at work for a party of 12. It looks like we are going to Ashby Farms in Kent. Has anyone been there before who can give me a bit of information on the place. What is the fishing and accommodation like ? We are booking the lodges. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Hello. Each year, myself and some the guys at work go on our annual fishing trip to Suffolk, staying at Colston Hall. The accommodation is on a B&B basis and usually we number 12 to 15 being a mixture of adults and kids. In the evening we walk down the road to the village pub for dinner and a glass of lemonade or two. For next year however, we want to try out a different venue which is where I need some help. Does anyone know of a place no more than 2-3 hours drive from London that can accommodate 12-15 people (inc kids) for 2 nights B&B with a pub nearby for evening food and lemonade, with fishing 'on site' that caters for all levels (carp boys on the buzzers after a double/kids on maggots happy to bash out tiddlers with the chance of something a bit bigger) ??????
  4. Check out :- http://www.colstonhall.com It's in suffolk.
  5. Price £400 ono. Includes 4 top kits all elasticated and 2 tubes. Pole is in very good condition as it has hardly been used and has been looked after. Genuine reason for sale (it has hardly been used - family committments have curtailed fishing time - once in last 8 months !!) so thinking of playing bit more golf (doesn't take all day).
  6. I'm selling my 16m Medusa, anyone interested ?
  7. Townlad, I've got a medusa which I've had since they first came out. I've been very happy with it although it is quite heavy at 16M and to be honest I've never fished it at that length. It comes with a match top 3 and 3 power top 2's. the pole itself at 13 and 14.5 metres is very stiff and a joy to fish with. At 13M, take off the last section and you can hold it in one hand. I bought mine from Nathans of Derby by mail order. If you need anything else let me know. I would recommend it. What pole do you have at the mo ?
  8. If anyone fancies being clever, and wants to keep in line with the EU (I DON'T - stuff the interfering europeans, I'm English and proud to be so they can all bog off with their stupid rules and regulations), there I'm feel better now I've got that off my chest. Anyway, as I was saying, you could ask for 568 millilitres of maggots !! to Europe to Brits
  9. Damm Nugg !!! How did you youfind out ???
  10. A man calls home to his wife and says, "Darling, I have been asked to go fishing with my boss and several of his friends.” “We'll be gone for a week, and this is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I've been wanting, so would you please pack me enough clothes for a week and get out my rod and tackle box.” “We're leaving from the office this afternoon and I’ll drop by the house to pick my things up. Oh, and by the way please pack my new blue silk pyjamas." The wife thinks this sounds a little strange but being a good wife she does exactly what her husband asked. The following weekend he comes home a little tired but otherwise looking good. The wife welcomes him home and asks if he caught many fish? He says, "Yes! Lot's of Carp and tench, some nice roach and rudd, and lots of bream, but why didn't you pack my blue silk pyjamas like I asked you to do?" The wife replies. . . . "I did, they were in your tackle box."
  11. Hagz, At the end of the day it is down to individual choice. Both poles are very good for their respective price tags. If Maver do discontinue the Medusa, you will still be able to get spares for some time after they stop. The Garbolino will probably stop in a couple of years as well.
  12. HAGZ Just sent you a PM regards Maver
  13. Welcome, another Essexite at last. I have just sent you an e-mail. Have a look !!! regards
  14. Manse, don't know if the Gloucester area is any good to you, but you could try the cotswolds water park. The place is unreal. There are loads of lakes (more than 30 !!) and lots for the mrs and kids to do. get the number for the tourist info centre in gloucester from directory enquiries and ask them to send you some details for the park.
