Out of interest where are you fishing for them Chris?
  3. They must go to a different plaice.... Sorry I'll get my coat...
  4. Well done Chris bet that was hell of a scrap on light gear!
  5. Lovely morning to be out! Sneaking in a couple of hours after the barbel before work gets in the way at 7
  6. How many are you looking for? Make a quick sketch with some dimensions and I could knock a few up at work
  7. Just picked up a second okuma for £50 delivered the trotting is taking a major back seat as my fishing is going to be limited to late evening trips into dark this year so I'm putting together a second maver/okuma combo to fish two rods into darkness as I feel I could be missing out on a fish or two. Plus I'm so impressed with how the two work together having a second set up would be nice anyway!
  8. Cheers guys Everything has kindve come together and worked really well, float rod still hasn't made an appearance again but my sessions have been limited to 9/9.30 starts until midnight. Looking for a new swim now to see if Ican replicate or whether it was complete fluke
  9. And another at 12lb01 from the same swim

Took a walk up colthrop the other day and I know what you mean! Have all the pegs been cut out at brimpton yet? So far its only been pegs that people have flattened out themselves as the lakes are taking priority
  11. I thought it might be, looks a lovely summer venue and I was toying with the idea of joining thatcham as well just for there but its looking likely I will be working away every weekend from the beginning of August until October so fishing time will be extremely limited and not worth a second club book. Maybe next year!
  12. Lovely chub Chris and a well executed plan me thinks! Is that a thatcham bit?
  13. Cheers Matthew pretty chuffed! I do love trotting I just don't have much confidence with targeting barbel and start getting frustrated after half hour or so of not catching
  14. I like the idea of a water repellant one my car stank when I got in it after work today! Mines been really good so after no rips in the mesh or anything despite my knack of getting it caught in anything I possibly can! My confidence is increasing each session by session in being able to find the fish so the float rod will make an appearance again soon!
  15. Cheers guys! Making up for my appalling season last year Anderoo the net is a gardner barbel and is brilliant i use it for all of my fishing from trotting for 'silvers' to barbel and carp http://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/store/gardner-barbel-specialist-pan-net?gclid=CNmOjJLJob8CFa2WtAod3y8Acg
  16. With a 13lb05 barbel!!! Over the moon right now, took half hour to land will upload pics when I'm home
  17. I've had a lot of practice at watching the tip and my phone while blanking! I sit so I can drop it and grab my rod in a split second, like a ninja
  18. Pics or it never happened I jest nice one Chris! Currently sat watching my rod top twitch as I imagine crays ripping my bait to pieces
  19. They are the same fish I have been catching just from the next swim up using feeder tactics, need to clear a way to get into the river to trot from here hopefully one evening next week
  20. Again well done! A 3lb grayling is quite a fish! Had another barbel last night but none on the float yet but I havnt actually tried since the 16th
  21. Nice one! My vote is 10lb 09oz

    Ist day

I found the fish at Brimpton on Friday evening and had around 11 bites but only banked one barbel, most frustrating and I couldn't figure out why they were coming off! Ordered barbless animals by mistake so going to switch to micro barbed to see if that helps
