  1. Chris, If you don't sell it on here it may be worth trying http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/
  2. It was very successful the first year, many multiple catches of twenties and loads of doubles. I think one boat had around 11 twenties in a day. I think it's declined somewhat now though, the fish are under a fair bit of pressure as the're fly fished for all spring and summer.
  3. I'm going on holiday soon near Manorbier and just wondering if anyone has any info on lurefishing/spinning for mackerel, pollack, bass, gar, etc between Lydstep and Stackpole. I've done a lot of freshwater lurefishing but know very little regarding sea fishing, any tips would be appreciated. Thanks [ 25. July 2004, 07:35 PM: Message edited by: Croix ]

  6. Shimano Citica 201 (LHW) low profile multiplier reel, good condition. £40 inc UK postage
  7. I guess it's just personel preferance but I had a Calcutta 251 when they first came out and didn't really get on with it, much prefer the Abu 5501. I found the Calcuttas' spool a bit too small in diameter for my needs, and the retreive slightly too slow to take up the slack line between jerks/twitches. awaaar, what weight lures are you looking to use ?
  8. John, it usually depends on each fishing clubs rules, I've found that most around here don't allow boat fishing .......... however, I've fished quite a few areas of the Trent and have never had any real problems. The Derwent and Dove are more tightly controlled by the clubs in my experience, so you may get some hassle fishing there. Many stretches have no legal rights of way for boats/canoes. Dave
  9. Been promising myself a trip to the coast for some saltwater lurefishing for the last two summers but have never found the time to go, this year I'm definately going ............ only problem is where ? Can anyone suggest a specific venue to try, preferably Wales or south coast. We'll be casting from the shore. Living in the midlands sea fishing info is scarce, especially lurefishing info. Not looking for monster bass or anything, hopefully just some sport with makerel, pollack, gar, etc on lightish spinning tackle. Please mail me privately if you don't want to post details of venues on here. Thanks
  10. Mercury 4hp fourstroke outboard, short shaft, F-N-R gears, integral tank but can also be run off a larger external one, approx 2 years old, low hours, as new condition apart from a couple of minor scratches on the engine cover. Owners manual and engine stand included. Pics available by email £400
  11. Have tried figure eighting a few times but never with any success, however I have had quite a few following pike take the lure by just making an L turn with the lure at the end of the retreive. Also as Tim stays, stopping the lure and letting it sink/float often brings a response.
  12. Excellent I'll have it. Check your email.
  13. Any 30lb left ? Thanks [ 17. May 2004, 06:23 PM: Message edited by: Croix ]
  14. Malcolm, As far as I know any type of watercraft using British Waterways controlled rivers and canals needs to be licenced. How strictly these laws are enforced on rivers and canals I don't know, but I think the penalties can be pretty steep. On Windermere and the Broads (neither BW) they are very keen. I have no idea what percentage (if any) goes to the EA. Cheers [ 18. April 2004, 07:47 PM: Message edited by: Croix ]

  16. Pike Fisherman, Pike & Predators, and Pikelines magazines. 100 in total, all very good condition. Offers
  17. Abu Ambassaduer 6001 CA, left hand wind, as new, £50 inc postage.
  18. Has anyone got any up to date info on the state of the river Witham around the Tattershall Bridge area, levels, colour, weed, etc. I have a few days off work and may venture up that way. Thanks for any info.
  19. I must look a bit shifty then , I've had mine checked at least 8 times in the last 15 years ......... even in the middle of a lake while boatfishing
  20. Yes Peter, but you're forgeting Gord is only 3'6" tall so even a 10lb'er looks massive I do think that on average US and Canadian pike are smaller than ours, mainly I beleive due to more competition for food from more types of predatory fish than we have and hotter summers/cooler winters. While fishing in Canada a few years ago most of the other anglers (mainly US) staying at the lodge had never caught a pike over 15 pounds despite casting and trolling some good waters. Dave [ 30. Lure Anglers

Paul, Are there any specific rules covering fishing for pike at Belvoir ? I've been on the Belvoir Castle website but the only details I can find are regarding the price of tickets. Surface lures are well worth a try Paul, we used to do well on them on shallow estate lakes at Kedleston Hall near Derby. Cheers Dave [ 26. May 2003, 06:50 PM: Message edited by: Croix ]
