  1. LOL, Aye, And I know who from...:) LOL, I honestly didnt realise the "upset" this wee toy would cause...its just like a McDonalds toy..:)
  2. Hiya, I'm off to Luce Bay in a week or so, for the Sharkatag....so,thought I'd raise a few bob to help cover costs, by listing a few items on Ebay...among them was a 4 inch Dalek....I listed it at £1.99 , thought I'd get a fiver for it. but just goes to show that collectors always know best.. Welll, I'm at work just now, in the van, sitting at he side of the canal, enjoying the sun, and thought I'd have a look at it...see how its doing.. Geezus, almost £200...:) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=270398856553 So, I might have more than just a few pints now..:) BTW, If anyone fancies a wee bid, get stuck right in ... But remember, you're bidding to buy..
  3. Hi Paul..Welcome to AN mate...hope you have fun here.. I sometimes fish for Seatrout off the boat with a spinning rod, and use the belly strip of a Mackeral, maybe about 3 inches ( 8cm) long and 1/2inch wide, (1 cm), hook it just once at the tip, cast out, towards the shore line, and retrieve it quite quickly so its "skittering" across the waters surface...I've had a fair few this way.....I was shown this by a guy who is fairly successful in catching them..:)
  4. Hiya, Sorry about that Barry... Mazco are the "Harrods" of the heating industry here in Scotland too...they can usually supply just about any item required.... You might have to take Elton up on his offer of the fleece..
  5. LOL, you and me both Alan...and RABBIT is meant to very lean meat..:)
  6. Myximitosis is totaly harmless to humans, and is a threat only to RABBITS ( which make great eating ) do some looking up on Dr Brian Plummer, who wrote lots of books about Rabbiting, ratting, and other pursuits involving hunting and eating various furry animals..:) To prove a point to someone who thought as you do, that Myxi rabbits are harmful to humans, in the late 70's he lived on eating them, and them alone.. Have a look at the links.. http://www.european-plummerterrier-society...er-history.html http://f4bscale.worldonline.co.uk/reading.htm
  7. Hi Barry, Give Damian, at Mazco Eng and Plumbers Supplies,( its my mates firm) on 01236 731734 a call, tell him I sent you, I drink with his boss Mark... give him all the details, see what he can come up with mate...then, if he can supply, get it ordered, I'll collect and post down, or collect it yerself.....:) As far as i'm aware, they are agents for Potterton, or at least they were...
  8. Hi Ken, You lucky person you.. I used to Ferret rabbits, and my fav way of cooking them was to skin and joint them, which was VERY easy... and stick them in a casserole with some onions and carrots...lovely grub...also, the half grown ones, just gut, skin and tidy them up, and into the chip pan/deep fat fryer for a few mins, they are like roasted chicken..but much nicer..:) BTW, Remember to run the urine out of them, or get the shooter to do it, as it can spoil the flesh when you go to gut them, sometimes you hit the bladder if youre not careful...and it can sometimes "leech" into the cavity when there are a few lying on top of each other in a bag... Have fun, and i'll now go and be really jealous..
  9. Hi Cory, I also tried Avast after a recommendation from here..and liked it a lot....but the thing that did my head in was the woman talking all the time..:)
  10. Hi Newt, hope you and Mrs Newt are well..... The cash on Collection, was and is, a demand...thats ..Not Allowed, as you MUST accept Paypal as a method of payment..amongst others btw....and, I'm not too sure about advertising it elsewhere, as Ebay change the rules ( laws) in various countries to suit themselves..
  11. Seems he's in the news over in Oz...I was talking to a mate last night, who's home from Perth in Australia on holiday. he was telling me, the old Bearded Burbler is in trouble with the law.. I didnt know he was an ex cop either... http://www.theage.com.au/national/cy...0507-aw0w.html
  12. Hi Chris, Ebay are really ( as we say in Scotland) a bunch of fuds, paying lip service to anyone that they think will help/aid/abett them in their climb to the top.... They will do NOTHING that will affect the fees they gather......recently, I put some books on Ebay, listing them at £1.99 ea....and because I asked for NO Echeques they took them all off, due to a "breach of Ebay terms and conditions" OK I thought...lets see...so, went to the Boats for Sale listing...over 60% of them were ALL in Breach.....i.e. Cash Only, or Advertised elsewhere....so, I called them...the girl hadnt a clue what to say, she wasnt trained in what to say!! all she could say was "we have refunded your fees"...the only reason those 60% of boats are still on there, are the Fees, they are massive, especially when boats that I looked at, were going for over £60K!!!! They def want rid of the Small Time seller!!!!
  13. Hiya, Hope yer well...Yep, was down today mate,...not a good day at all, 9 species, and biggest was a 6lb pollack, but...as they say..."at least you got out"....back down in June for the tagathon... Thanks for the link, off to do it now..
  14. Barry, That was definately fate stepping in mate, you are destined for great things..:) Like a "massive" Common in Scotland..
  15. Hiya, I think you did better than we did today off the boat..the weather was pants....but it was good fun nonetheless...9 species in total, not incl the Octupus that Peter had... and Pollack to 6lbs.. Heres Peter with one of his fish...it was his birthday today.. and this Scallop dredger working all day just on the edge of Clanyard Bay. You'll get hold of Snatcher in the Clash, as he's over at his van just now..:) Or PM him on here.. BTW, Sorry, Welcome to AN..
  16. Hiya, I'm ( again) hoping you can help...I'm looking to update the drivers on my PC...does anyone know of any free software that will do it?? or where to get it?? Thanks in advance.
  17. Hiya, Sportsman, theres a PM winging its way to you right now...:)
  18. Hi Chesters..Japanese Knotweed is a BIG problem for British Waterways...they spend a small fortune every year trying to eradicate it....and it takes forever to get rid of, each individual plant has to be painted with some type of weedkiller, and it takes years to finally kill it...we aint allowed to touch, cut or otherwise "do it in" as all we would do, is let it multiply... http://www.britishwaterways.co.uk/search?q=japanese+knotweed Have a look at some of the stuff they are doing about it mate.. Good ol' Victorians eh???
  19. Hiya, well, It looks like there wont be any Toping this weekend, the wind is all wrong for it, and we have to launch from Port Logan....but we will be after Pollack for a couple of hours, then a species hunt.... I'll keep you informed..:)

Hi Dave, Just been chatting to a "shipmate" of yours from last weekend....So, you wouldnt let him carry your bags eh??? Just seen the link, great bit of filming, and as usual, filmed on your good side.. BTW, I was talking to Davy a few mins ago...he thinks you might have missed out the Breams on your list of species...or is that just AM getting it wrong?? All the best..
  21. Hiya, a few weeks ago, I lost all the ability on my PC, to click on a shortcut, which usually took me into the page it was set too, and had to type in my password on every page I wanted to get into...this came around the time my free AVG was due to run out...I had been told by a mate who is an IT chappie to try this one.. http://www.free-av.com/ Avira,...its called... so, I installed it, and got rid of AVG....amazing stuff, instantly, my pc is wayyy faster...and I can use all the shortcuts again...just a coincidence??...I have no idea, but there you go.,..:) The one and only downside, is, once a day, on startup, you get a wee popup, asking if you want to buy the software...close that, and no probs again.. I installed Avira along with Malawarebytes and Ccleaner on my mates PC, hes had no problems since..:)
