  1. I recently had my Car written off by a woman driver who forgot that when pulling off from a stationary position she needs to look over her shoulder. My beautiful Mazda.................. Maybe she thought that looking over her shoulder would crack her foundation. Then driving home after the incident another female driver decided to mount the kerb my side and drive head on at me...like come on. Fact: My Wife passed her test so I took her for a spin to show her things to watch out for. On a ration of 9:2 the errors were all commited by women, or cross dressers as my wife called them. Women driver...pah!!! Take forever pulling off from junctions. Sorry I need an invitation to pull off. Totally drive at inappropriate speeds. 70 mph speed limit so lets drive @ 35 mph. Sit there doing their makeup when traffic lights go green. Does my line look good? Expect other drivers to be able to read their minds. Like come on you didn't know I was pulling off? Today I watched a woman stop her vehicle on a train crossing completely blocking the barrier action. She then had the audacity to ask the Policeman why she was getting a ticket and penalty points. Our Government creates Bus Lanes, Cycle Lanes and yet will not create a female driver lane....
  2. On Ebay sellers rely on the goodwill of the buyer to complete a transaction. However, due to the fact that these transactions are not face to face, a non paying bidder cannot be forced to pay for an item bid upon. This is simply because there is no absolute proof that the winning bidder actually made the winning bid. This is one of the things sellers have to put up with. I am a seller who has experienced just that. Ebay will sanction non payers with account restrictions but their powers are limited to this and account closure. No other protection is available. I would like to be able to send an electronic viral explosive down to their IP and blow up their system...
  3. Try this. Buy a small amount of Pinkies or Squatts and whilst standing by your tank drop one in every 5 seconds. The Rudd will then associate you with good food and be less inclined to panic.
  4. If you have a swimming pool, blow up type, over 8 foot diameter transfer your pond water into it. Then put in your fish. The benefit is that you are keeping your pond water. Do not remove more than 75% of the sludge from your existing pond as it is vital for good microbes and bacteria that break down waste. Algea browns as it dies and this is affected by the seasons. If you think that your UV is not working as well as it should take it out and thoroughly clean but be careful not to touch the glass with your hands, Marigold gloves are what I use. Next time your children go net dipping ask them to collect a creature called the water slater. These little creatures breed fast and clean up pond sludge. They also provide a great food for your fish. Link Provided. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/pictures...php/photo/55375 To ensure that the water slaters have no parasites put them in a seperate unit for a week, with some sludge to feed on, with a mild salt water solution. Use cooking salt only @ 4 teaspoons per pint. All the best.
  5. Finding prison space is easy. There are plenty of uninhabited islands in the outer hebrides. Put them all there and give them the materials to build a community. Then after a year send in a group of people to trash, rob and burn it to the ground. It would help if prisons had tougher regimes. Today I think Prisons are too soft. I know people who have been in them and can confirm they get, Gyms, TV's, Stereos, Pool Tables, Wii's, PS3, Xbox 360 and much more. They see Prison now as an occupational hazard where they have a free holiday. If I were in charge I would do the following: 1. Life is life or full term sentencing. 2. Hard Labour--Do not work and you do not eat. 2a. Block system where if one man refuses a task all are penalised. Let the Criminals teach each other. 3. Trash a Prison and tough you stay in it whatever the condition. 4. The Prisoner loses his assets to pay towards incarceration. 4a. All owned properties, unless occupied by family, would be automatically handed over for the rental market for a total sentence period plus 5 years post release. All monies raised paid to the treasury. 4b. Second offence within 5 years post release and all property is confiscated. All monies raised paid to the treasury. 5. A 0.5% Prison Tax levied on all future earnings for 15 years post release. 6. Prison cells would have a bed, toilet and sink only. 7. All prisoners lose civil and human rights for their full sentence term. 8. No rights to complain---they put themselves there. 9. Return of Capital Sentence--agreed on by a panel of six Judges. 10. No rights to play games of chance. [Lottery] 11. No rights to privacy. 12. No automatic rights to visits. 13. No rights to vote whilst in Prison or for 5 years post release. 14. All released Prisoners must wear a pink armband for 5 years or face immediate recall to prison. 15. All prisoners must acquire trade skills. No skills no release. 16. All released prisoners will have their photographs and crime details posted on the internet. I would also introduce an automatic DNA library for all people born from today. Criminals DNA would be kept for life. Police would not be scratching their heads if they had a DNA sample but no idea of criminal. I would also introduce biometric ID cards. Without the card you could not get: Employment--Taxation Codes--Medical Care--Benefits. Anyone who had no card would receive an immediate custodial sentence until their ID was proved. This would get rid of illeagal immigrants and those who like to live outside of society but claim all the benefits from it.
  6. As someone with a few friends in the mechanics business I can say without hesitation that a well reconditioned engine is as good as a new one. The quality of the recon work determines the quality of the engine. I would ask to see the paperwork regarding the engine as every recon engine needs its own paperwork. This is important for logbook regulations as some people can unwittingly have a different engine than that listed. I remember when I owned a mark 4 Cortina that a recon engine supposedly 1600 turned out to be a 2L. This not only breaches DVLA regulations as any change to the engine spec needs to be declared but it also invalidates insurance. My mechanic has always recommended that Cam belts / Chains should be replaced every 80k. As to using Ebay...shudder...be careful.
  7. I don't think that the Indians or the Chinese will be as all out for space exploration as the USA was. I mean really, we cannot even get a Man beyond Mars at the minute. Not to mention the amount of pollution from each trip. Space exploration provides little reward for the amount of money it costs. The money would be better spent here on Earth. People are so worried about space exploration and yet ignore the fact we are killing our own planet. I think we will have polluted it long before we need worry about an asteroid or comet hitting it. As to travelling to the stars, what do we want to do colonise and kill another planet? There is no danger of potential decline in the USA for they have already taken the down slope. America is going to go bang very soon and maybe it is time that the Eastern nations moved to the front for a while. The UK also is only deluding itself as to the extent of the problem. The West could definately end up as 1st world Countries living in 3rd world conditions.
  8. Rather go Fishing than watch football. Makes me laugh when spectators who pay for overpriced tickets to watch a few people ducking and diving on a field of grass seem to think that they are really part of what goes off in a club. The only thing spectators contribute to are the unrealistic wages paid to these premadonas. I mean come on do you think Rooney would help any spectator if he knocked on his door and asked for a crust of bread... Football and I mean proper football died when it became a commercial commodity.
  9. Sorry I will detail more and add pop up pictures if possible... Government always declare they want zero crime...that is the Bullshit. Insults...are given by those who find it awkward to face a fact...especially since they are too dumb to figure it for themselves. Stand back and actually see how crime benefits the UK economy.. A few examples: Taxation from wages of those involved in enforcement. Benefits for the Manufacturers of Cuffs, Truncheons, notebooks, helmets, vehicles, Boots, Shirts, Radios.. etc etc..... Can you honestly see a High Court Judge stacking shelves atMorrisons. Come on surely you are not so blinkered? Tell me that I am wrong and then tell me where you will employ all those who lose their jobs if crime was reduced to 0%. Does no one ever look beyond the picture anymore? The criminal being paid £20,000 per year was an illiustration of the fact that most crime is commited through the effect of poverty and £20,000 is enough to lift you from it...IT WAS ONLY AN ILLUSTRATION. Personally if I were in charge I would have he following: Blocks of 50 inmates all dependent on each other. One man does not toe the line they all suffer. They all work to eat. No work = No food. No TV or Gym unless they achieve merit scores. Full term sentence. Confiscation of goods to pay towards their incarceration. A loss of Human Rights. Chain gangs that operate 365 days per year. 1 visit every month. No chances for partner/wife nookie visits. A loss of voting rights for 3 years post release. 2nd offence means, dependent on offence, a minimum of 10 times original sentence of first offence. So I would not be lenient.
  10. Probably would if he was a UK Politician. However, perhaps he only wanted a souveneir? They are all bent...I have yet to meet an honest politician.
  11. You have all been deceived. Governments constantly speak of reducing the crime rates and being hard on convicted criminals. THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO DO THIS. If the UK completely became crime free this country would go bust. Crime is an amazing industry for the UK and every up and coming criminal makes money for our economy. They want criminals freed early so that they can re-offend and contribute to the economy in their actions. Solicitors, Judges, Barristers, Queens Commisioners, Police, Wardens, Probation Officers, manufacturers of Handcuffs..so on and so on would be out of work or bust within 15 weeks if the crime rate dropped to 0%. Criminals mostly commit crime out of mere greed. If government paid a criminal £20,000 per year to NOT COMMIT CRIME it would cost the country significantly less but reduce revenue for industry and cause major problems in employment. CRIME IS AN INDUSTRY WHICH THE COUNTRY NEEDS. GOVERNMENTS WILL ALWAYS TREAT THE CRIMINAL LIKE THE VICTIM. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY GIVE THEM THE FACILITIES IN PRISON THAT THEY DO...they want the prisoner out stronger and better educated. The victim has no financial value to the economy in comparison to the criminal. Criminals in themselves are stupid for in their actions they could break this country within 18 weeks by saying that they will all collectively agree to commit no crime for that timeframe. Bullshit said so many times eventually is believed as truth.
  12. I would hate to be a current "friend" of America or Britain. Taliban were friends of old when the USSR occupied Afghanistan. Bin Laden was a great friend and asset when working with the " Reputable " C.I.A. Even Saddam Hussain was a great friend to the west in the 1970's early 1980's....bet you didn't know that in the Iran-Iraq War we were bussom buddies with Iraq whilst secretly supplying Iran with weapons to kill the Iraqis, indeed it is rumoured that the West sold him the Gas he used on the Kurds. Remember the Iraq invasion of Kuwait...well the British decided to take land from Iraq and give it to the Marsh Arabs after world war 2. Surprise, surprise a land by chance and lucky coincidense filled to the brim with Oil. No wonder Hussain wanted it back...it was originally his in the first place...where have we seen British land grabs before...oh yes Palestine. Oh woe is me the present day friend to America and the UK. Given current events my future seems bleak... As to Gadafi and Libya...all of a sudden, given the shortages envisaged in Oil, we want him replaced by a Pro Western Government. All this is going to bite us on the backsides before long.
  13. I have an Advent Laptop with Windows Vista Premium installed. I have a problem where I cannot upload pictures from my Canon Powershot camera. To explain fully, I have another system, Tower, that uses XP Home and when I plug the USB upload cable from the camera Windows automatically recognises the camera. It is ready then to upload on request. I then go through a series of screens before the pictures are uploaded giving me the choice of formatting the memory as I go. With my Laptop I plug in the USB and although the Computer makes a noise it does not produce the Windows retrieval programme. I would like to upload pictures to my laptop in the same way that I do to my Tower. Anyone have an idea?
  14. Has the IT guy just upgraded or made a full OS installation? If he hasn't wiped the original virus then it is pointless continuing. If he has wiped the virus he should at least know what it was. I would advise that you to try someone else. Multiple attempts to resolve the issues you describe have ended without resolution. As to running 2 different OS together, I have never heard of it but cannot say it is not possible. To me it seems the IT guy may be preying on your lack of knowledge. If you use him again, you tell him the following: I want you to fully format my HD and install a genuine Win7, premium or ultimate, from scratch. Tell him also to create a recovery disk after installation. Also make sure that he gives you the product key and Disk. If he has used a genuine product the key and Disk is yours by right. Once that is done buy a mainstream Internet security programme and install it before you connect to the internet. There are many out there but buy one of the top 5. Look for the WHICH guide to computing, it is very helpful.
  15. I have used Norton for 5 years and only with 2008 did I experience problems. Footprints. A few years ago, 2008, I picked up a group of viruses, Malware that caused absolute mayhem. Formatting my HD and re-installing my OS did nothing as the intruder remained and again time after time crippled my system. Now my IT friend, who has been a computer specialist since the Amiga 500+, giving away my age..lol, told me that the HD should be removed from the machine and fitted into an external drive for wiping. He reformatted the drive 3 times to remove what he called "Footprints". After he had done this I re-installed my OS and have had no issues since. I only know that it was this action that resolved my issues. @ Clifftop. If your IT guy backs everything up to re-inatsll and doesn't clean the infection you may be back to square one in short order. Personally, I would tell him to install the full package and not just the upgrade.
  16. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. FINISHED EARLY, NEVER SAW ANYONE CATCH A FISH AND A GUY THERE ALL WEEK HAD ONLY CAUGHT ONE FISH. ALSO A1 PITS HAS RAISED PRICES AND REMOVED JUNIOR TICKETS SO EVERYONE PAYS ONE SINGLE RATE. DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NOT RETURN.
  17. Whatever it was came out this morning into the drain. A black/brown blob of something. Was like something out of a Sci-Fi movie and it stank to high heaven, maybe a distant relation to "FLUBBER". It took 2-3minutes to actually disappear. I am wondering if it could be the accumulation of oils/fats which spill frequently onto childrens clothes when they eat We have always used powder but from now we are resorting to liquid. Again thankyou to all.
  18. I believe that I have resolved the problem. After checking the filter again I got a high powered hose and fired it down the external waste pipe and water exit pipe into the machine. Something made a thud sound in the machine, I then set the machine to a boil wash. I used vinegar as suggested. The result is that the smell has disappeared, for now at least. Perhaps a clog from the Bioloical powder? Anyway thankyou all for your help and advice in this matter.
  19. Going to have a 3 day session this weekend at the A1 pits. Will be fishing Lake 4 as it holds Carp, Bream and Tench. Will post results Monday for the benefit of other members.
  20. I shall move the machine outside and remove the top panel. I will then lay the exit hose flat on the ground and fire some high pressured water through it, much the same as back fill. I am fortunate that my water pressure is as strong as a basic jet washer. I will then boil wash again and allow to empty, keeping an eye out for leaks. @ Barry Luxton---if things point to the pump are they straight forward to change? My machine is an LG.
  21. The smell is reminiscent of washing that has been left wet within a black bag for a week or more. A kind of musty fug. As my washing machine is located within my kitchen and I live in the countryside I am certainly mindful of vermin infestation. Is it possible that the pump itself is failing to sufficiently empty the machine?
  22. If by pump filter you mean the easily accessed filter at the front, well it was absolutely clear of coin or hair. I have twice done an empty boil, 95 degree wash, with a full bottle of disinfectant and a half bottle of bleach to no avail. I have moved the machine out and can see no evidence of pooling. I was unable to open up today and so will look inside tomorrow. Beyond this I am absolutely at a loss. I am grateful to all for the assistance.
  23. As a youngster who didn't get much pocketmoney I used to use baco foil as an alternate bite indicator. Worked as a run indicator and a drop back indicator. Now, I use bite alarms when fishing for Carp or Big Barbel. I have tended to become slightly lazy. Or maybe I enjoy the scenery as much as the fishing. Mellow with age?? However, to be honest there is no right or wrong way to fish. You do that which makes you feel most comfortable. The art of fishing is as individual as the fisherman.
  24. If your IT guy didn't resolve the virus issue then it is still there and likely to be the issue. I always advocate using the full OS installation as opposed to upgrade software. I would also recommend you invest in a mainstream security software. There are many such as Norton, McKafee etc etc. Norton is on offer in some retail outlets at half price. Now, you have the right to return to your IT guy and demand that he/she rectifies the problem if you made it clear before the upgrade that there was a virus on your system. The IT professional has a duty of care and may not have fulfilled this.
  25. I have a suspicion that the IT guy has upgraded vista with the Windows 7 upgrade without removing the virus. If you have a corrupted hard drive, virus or malware infestation, you should format first x 3 times to remove problem files and any footprints left behind. Then and only then do you install a new OS. I have seen a similar problem happen before with my Brother. He upgraded from Vista using the Win7 upgrade and not the full install package. He has had continuous problems and eventually had to install the full Win7 OS version. Just out of interest what Internet Security software do you have?
