My insurance has an outbuilding cover limit of £75,000 and once my insurer told their loss adjusters what to do my insurer agreed settlement without a hitch. As I have been with the same insurer for over 21 years my policy is different to modern policies offered and cannot be changed on the whim of the loss adjuster because they don't want to have to do any work.. But, my warning is for those who perhaps have not investigated their cover details completely those who may get a nasty surprise if some Scroat decides that they are his next target. To anyone who has insurance cover for theft from outbuildings it is essential that you check the small print of your policy. I had my tackle stolen from my secured outbuilding in November 2018 (valued at £10,000) and although I was insured the company used by my insurer to calculate my losses tried to cap my claim at £3,000.00 even though my policy clearly states my claim limit is £75,000.00. Even after my insurer had told them my limit they even refused to accept the evidence given and so my insurer had to take over dealing with my claim and telling the loss adjusters what to do. Many new content only policies have a capped limit for outbuilding cover which is around the £2,500-£4,000 mark, which is not always easy to identify, so I urge you to check your policy small print and correct any deficiencies. It would be no fun to lose all of your tackle to then be told by your insurer you'll get back only a 1/4 of the value. The loss assessors even complained via email that " unfortunately I had over 150 items taken.." I did try to explain that, for example: A thief steals a rod bad which is a single item but in that bag could be up to 20 other items, brolly, rods, reels, poles, bank sticks etc etc... It seems that they are disgruntled because they have to do something called work... they were that bad I received an official apology from my insurer... The loss adjusters used are called "BeValued." So if you ever find yourself under their care you are warned.

Good morning all. I am seeking advice from anyone who has an understanding the obligations of UK dealerships that sell Motorcycles/Mopeds. I purchased for my Son a Lexmoto 50cc Echo Moped and it was delivered on the 2nd August. He has had the Moped for 2 days and yesterday there happened a malfunction that caused the throttle to open wide causing the Moped to shoot forwards, throwing my son who was not prepared for the failure. Two independent witnesses have categorically stated that my Son was not speeding nor riding recklessly; he was riding to the top of a car park to park up his Moped. My Son was experiencing occasional starting issues which the dealership put down as a running in problem, which if not resolved within 14 days they would remedy. Can I demand a replacement machine because neither I nor my Son are comfortable with the Moped. Thank you in advance.

In relation to the license covering up to three rods,I feel that that this is something that should have been considered years ago. Carp anglers are everywhere and it is only fair that, as they always buy their licenses, they should be better provided for. I think that licenses for two, three or four rods should be available. In relation to free fishing for Juniors, I have to say it is a bad idea. When I was a Junior Angler myself, a few years ago.... , I knew that once a year I had to save my money to buy a license every March. It established in my head that to fish there was a small fee to pay and this fee was reinvested into the hobby I love. If you have to pay for something you generally take better care of it, I believe the same applies. To remove the junior fee, which to be honest at £5 is the same price as 10 cigarettes, in my opinion takes away the responsibility which every Angler has whatever their age to the waters they choose to fish. Annual licenses, good idea.

These for some may be a Noobish questions but I am considering visiting my cousin for the first time in Perth Western Australia early in 2017 and need some advice. I remember in the 1990's a debate where it was suggested that everyone paid either an extra 1.5% National Insurance or an extra 1% income tax and this money would be ring fenced for the NHS. So only the NHS could get this money. Everyone thought they were great ideas, then these ideas were dropped and never implemented. I would have been happy to pay if it was guaranteed that the money wouldn't have been grabbed for other things.
