It's not the waters which I dislike it's the people who run/own them who, generally, are only in it for one thing - and that isn't the welfare of the fish they put in them.....

I'm posting this here as most of the Fly Fishing devotees seem to post here as well.... If, like me, you've struggled to justify fishing in the past when questioned as to whether the sport is cruel, you might like to buy a copy of this months Trout and Salmon magazine. There's a very good article reasoning why fish probably don't feel pain written by an American Professor, James D. Rose. Now I don't know much about the subject or how much those who do know about it agree with the Prof. but it made very enlightening reading for me and will give me good ammunition for the future. Alternatively, if you don't want to buy a 'Fluff Chuckers' magazine you could, of course, become one of those annoying people and read the magazines in W.H.Smiths during lunchtimes stopping us getting to them......

Cringeworthy......

A woman stopped by unannounced at her recently married son's house. She rang the doorbell and walked in. She was shocked to see her daughter-in-law lying on the couch, totally naked. Funny that Chris.....I thought exactly the same thing.

This poor guy was minding his own business & he felt an eye irritation. Thinking that it was just regular dust, he started to rub his eye, in an effort to remove the dust. Then his eyes got really red, so he bought some eye drops from the pharmacy. A few days passed and his eyes were still red and seemed a little swollen. Again he dismissed it as dust & continued rubbing, hoping it would go away. As the days went by, the swelling of his eye got worse & the redness increased until he decided to go and see a doctor for a check up. The doctor immediately wanted an operation, being afraid of a tumor growth or cyst. At the operation, what was thought to be a growth or cyst, actually turned out to be a ........................

That's no age to go is it? Very sad news.
