  16. Nice one Mally, That reminds me of the one where two blokes were fishing by a river when a funeral parade passes by. One of the them put his rod down, stood up and took his cap off. The other one said that was a decent thing to do, he replied " She was a good wife to me"
  17. I would like to say thanks to the people who replied to my recent message regarding Poles/Whips/Margin Busters. I have bought the Maver Grim Reaper and will be using it this weekend. The deal was very good from Davies Angling in Staines (I work near there). They could not of been more helpful, they elasticated it up for me, explained it to me, gave me a roller thingy, tube and some carp rigs. Thanks again, I think it was Stewart who served me, cheers mate. I will be back. Its nice to know that not all tackle shops treat (late) starters like idiots. Oh I forgot to mention, they made me a cup of coffee while I waited for them to put the elastic in.

  24. I had not been fishing since my schooldays, my son asked me to take him and his friends fishing one day. After watching him and trying to teach him I decieded to buy some tackle for both of us. We visited the Thames on several occasions and found that I needed teaching myself. We started going with a mate of mine who taught us lots. Not so long ago I went and stayed with Ian Heaps and completed his one week School of Angling in Wales, now that is a true Master. He taught me so much that I will have to go again as I had never heard of the half the things he showed me. It was well worth it and such a laugh for the whole week. Has anyone else fished there ?
