  1. Thanks guys for replies on information there is no ISBN. Number in any if the books. If I was to hold onto then in there current condition would you expect them to be worth more in a few years time maybe ? At an auction of some sort ? Volumes 1&2 are around £5 to £7.50 each on eBay and 3 between 10&15 considering the cost of what they where back in the 60s they have made considerable increase in value . Even the ones on eBay aren't "mint" mine are by looks better condition on the exception of volume 3 with the binding
  2. Hi guys came into acquiring volumes 1-3 of these book anybody able to put a price to them ? Volume 1 has original price on 8s 6d , volume 2 has no pricing and volume 3 has 12s. Volume 3 has seen better days as looks like the bonding to the spine of the book has turned to dust , all relatively in good condition considering there age 50+ years any help would be great , seeing if they would be worth anything now or hold on for a while cheers

  4. In terms of mass feders that solely feed on them . Other fish do est them when and as but nothing only targets them as a good source
  5. They where introduced years ago as food in restaurants and where being bread in rivers etc , escaped and now thrive in our systems with no natural predators
  6. If you get a licence to trap them it's ok , they are really aggressive feeders taking spawn and kill the native crayfish , that is the big problem. A small benefit is that when they shed there outer shell perch and other species love to eat them - super steroids for fish. If you keep record of any perch captures you will see they will grow in size to easily 4lb+ . Get a licence and use as bait I say
  7. Try these guys may help http://www.fishingspares.co.uk/index.php?cPath=1_9_58_69
  8. http://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/store/fishing-gear/poles-whips have a look on here few good ones and with reasonable price range
  9. Eels can travel across land to access water any where the seance it , even travel through street drains. If bit is a pike it may explain why the birds are being spooked and why the offspring are disappearing or it could be a catfish too ... Best guess get a dead / live bait out on a set of trebbles and see what takes , if you know anyone who does pike fishing would be beneficial as they are great fish but extremely delicate even tho they look tough and robust
  10. Rob thanks a million , pm sent . Cheers
  11. Yea it looks like the one I am looking for thanks how wide is the thread as the thread width if the male section is about 5 mm wide , how much would I our you to buy it ?
  12. Hi all looking for a handle for this reel if possible as just found one in a mates skip - to think he was about to just throw it away for no handle - it is smooth enough just by turning it with the thread so looks in full working order. Any Leeds or help would be great thanks Adam

Would love to go if I can get approval from the mrs - as work can be sorted with a few days off
  15. Hi guys got my self in a bit of a situation for tomorrow as I am going fishing but don't know what I a want to do , thinking of going out with a few lures down the canal or going to the local estate lake for perch on minnows as bait, I can get the minnows in the morning if I throw out a minnow trap tonight but I am in two minds - with limited time to go I want to do what will get me a few catches ...
  16. I have the heavy feeder rod from these and it's a real work horse ! Better still it's extreamly light weight for a feeder rod surprisingly out of the others I have and used in the past tend to feel like telegraph poles in comparison http://www.dinsmores.co.uk/viewsubcategory.asp?subId=132 match with one of these reels http://www.daiwasports.co.uk/categories/coarse/reels it can't go wrong ! Comes with 2 glass and one carbon tip it's brilliant now weather is a little breezy And for under your budget too if you use eBay for the reels
  17. Next time I go I'll take pic with them ! Lol first I have seen any at all. I'll keep you updated - in terms of squats and pinkies can't get hold of any as tackle shop can't get any till next week
  18. Could be u guess but I see then taking their traps out to , could they be using illegal traps of some sort ? As I know for crayfish they need to have a licence for that
  19. Only difference between 5 and 5s is the processors the 5c is equivalent to the 4s and 5s is faster only due to the fingerprint recognition and memory that is needed for it so in essence it's the same as the 5, I am a little bit disappointed tho as if I had waited a little longer this year I would have the 5s but couldn't do without a phone for a few months as my old one had an unfortunate meeting with a jug if water and caused it to loose camera functionality and only worked with loudspeaker. But I agree on the space size I have the 16gb and wish I had the 64gb due to the amount of apps I had on the old one I have to swap and change between apps when I need a new one
  20. Hi guys been thinking of doing a spot if perch fishing at a few lakes and canal near me that I have found and know they have a large amount of minnows and mini species. If I was to use a home made bottleneck trap for the minnows as bait would it cause any issues with EA officers if they where to do a patrol? As I have seen a few other lads my way doing it with great success for large specimens yet they pack up as soon as a patrol is on the way cheers
  21. You are right in terms for starting off with float gear for starting back , look for a match rod between 10ft to 12ft a reel that can fit around 100yards of 6lb line in my opinion I would recommend a rear drag model for you starting back into it. Depending on where you go fishing carp can still be caught on float gear but you need to be carful as you could end up breaking off ( snapping your line) if you play a fish too hard . For now don't worry about feeder rods or all the new bait a simple tub of maggots or worms dug out of your back yard and packet of hooks with a float should be enough to set you back on track. Hook sizes to start with I would recommend sizes 10 to 14 and a tub of mixed shot to set your float. Plummets are used to set your float depth ideally you want about 1cm to 1.5 cm of the float tip showing and the shot allows the float to settle. If you need any more advice send me a private message if you are able to and welcome back to fishing. Where are you from also ? As this site is helpful when it comes to looking where to fish
  22. I agree that it is cheap crap that they are selling - even I Robson Green is backing some if it - the reels are tacky the rods look like a telephone mast and hooks etc are cheep and flimsy ( opens up a pack of carp rigs and hook bent with little effort
