  1. Just thought id put this point across see what you lot think about it. Is it me or do we make catching carp much more difficult for ourselves? I mean at the end of the day a carp is a fish. it is not a nuclear scientist is it. i mean how the hell can a fish tell if there is supeglue near the bait in question, does it whip out its water testing equipment before it eats anything? If a carp was that intelligent that it could detect suspect smells in the water and knows what a lead looks like for example dont you think carp as a species would have evolved by now and be living in houses down the road to ourselves, and what ever happened to having a memory of a gold fish cause thats all a carp, is just a big one. also what should i buy SX's or Delkims. Had Delkims and thought they was wicked before but like the look of SX's.
  2. not meaning to sound big headed but i can chuck 110 yards with a set of 8010's and century R1's which have about 9 eyes and are far from designed for casting. the 10000xte's should be more than efficient for 110 yards and have got to be the best made reel on the market. and dont feel the need to fish at that distance, if everyone else is then try being different and fish a bit closer in.
  3. last time i went into a tackle shop i walked passed the rods andithout paying to much attention i noticed a weave deficiancy in the butt half that was about 7 inches long. when i pointed this out to the bloke in the shop he said that the whole batch was like it
  4. try the fox stiff rig pouch its ideal if like me you use shortish rigs but it can be used for long ones if you double the rig up
  5. they may be god rods to use but if you into a tackle shop and ask to see every single nash rod they have you will find at least one fault with teach one where there is no quality control. the build quality is horrendous. not what you expect when paying that much for a rod.
  6. ive found with most gear in fishing you get what you pay for (with the exception of the fox m's and kamasan B175's) so i would say go for the most expensive ones you can afford. its like with end tackle i will always bye solar or kryston products over nash products cause i know they are better. Actually i dont buy nash full stop cause i think its crap but you know what i mean
  7. if money aint a problem i would recommend a set of century FMJs. i dont actually own a set but a mate of mine has some and they are awesome. on my first go on them i put a 4oz lead over 100 yards and that was without any effort at all. ive not seen them being used for method feeders but if there no good at that i would be very suprised. despie popular opinion aswell tere also very good for fishing the margins with.
  8. 'might still leak though' understatement of the year or what. Ive seen more water repelant sponges than titans. mines a heap. i have been told though that thompsons water seal helps though you just need a day with no rain to be able to leave it to dry which in this country is rare as rocking horse sh**e and when it dot rain you wanna be out fishing. withtitans aswell though you will find that once they get wet the material will start to sag alot aswell
  9. everything ive ever bought with a nash logo (except his pva stocking refills already on the tube)
  10. ive heard before that carp use it yo help filter food out of silt when they suck it in abd blow the unwanted debreis out
  11. if you want, email me with the questions and if i can ill answer the questions for you and reply back with an answer
  12. tommy onslow. fishes walthamstow and could catch fish from a puddle. also has a longterm girlfriend unlike a lot of the top names and is a genuinely nice guy who will help you out if he can (from personal experience)
  13. ive thought about this before and what i cant get my head around is why people think that a fish being caught will make this curtain all of a sudden disappear. i mean if someone get there lip pieced ( quite why i dont know ) they dont lose there tongue or any other part of there mouth do they. i think its just one of them things people just say because they want to believe that they were the only person to have ever caught that fish. i could be wrong but you did ask for opinions
  14. i suffer that exact same problem with my fishing aswell (i also own 8010s). horrendous line twist on one reel and absoloutely bugger all on the other. a couple of things ive found that helps is not using daiwa infinity for a start because its naturally twisted where the two colours are put together. try somthing like shimano technium( my choice ) or fox soft steel because they have a low memory for mono lines. also ive found that the way you spool up affects the line for the first half a dozen trips. if you get a bucket of warm water and place the spool of line in there for 10 minutes prior to spooling upit softens the line and for some reason this works (dont ask me why but it does). if you check which way the line comes of the spool aswell by hldng it on the side and pulling the line off.one way will give you bigger coils than the other this is the way to wind it off after heating it up. the other way i found was to put te rods down and walk across a field with the line as you said earlier. Hope this helps PS dont knock 8010s there still in my opinion one of the best reels around the only thing i think that betters them is the new xt10000's. and if you can hit 170+ yards with them why change.
