Ant, I think you will find Nash gear has improved a lot now. I don't know what the Hooligan rods are like, I fish with Nash pursuit rods, I use his Power pod, his scales and I use the Nash oval plus for short sessions, and I have never had a problem with his gear

Judging by the weight of it (railway sleepers) I think it is cain, hard to tell because it has a very dark stain to it.

I have come across an old rod with ceramic rings, brass spigots with plugs made from wood and brass that fit in the ends of each section when dismantled, the reel seat is at the very end of the but section, and the rod is sighned by John Holt :confused: Has anyone heard of John Holt, or know anything about him?

I was walking home after a party in Brixton,and there was a white man standing in his front garden banging two dustbin lids to-gether. The flowers have all gone, all faded away. Its winter now, its dull dark and grey. The flower beds all covered in snow. How I long for the spring bulbs,their heads to show. They will all burst into flower. Watered by the first April shower. The pansies with their flowers so bright They make a wonderful sight. The lobelia hangs its trailing heads, A perfect border for the flower beds. The trees in blossom, their leaves all green. Nothing to show that winter has been. Children having fun playing in the park. Now all I need is a thirty pound carp.

And I bet her marrows were *shooting up* all aver the garden.
