  1. Nescafe condoms *Fresh taste & Rich aroma*
  2. The first three rods I looked at I checked from tip to butt, no faults on any of them. As for the price forget the R.R.P not many anglers pay it, I got the rods for £120 each instead of the £179 R.R.P. my local tackle shop is a o.k.

  6. I am using Nash Pursuit Horizon rods 3lb TC, A Nash power pod, and nash hangers, I find the rods ok for long range fishing and not to bad under the rod tip either, the pod is very sturdy but a bit on the heavy side, the hangers do the job. I'm happy with the set up, but it dont take much to make me happy. Catch you later.

  9. Hi Howzie. I have not fished the lake you were talking about, I phoned a few friends who hsve fished in your neck of the woods, but none of them have fished it, have you asked your local tackle shop if they have any any info on the lake. Catch you later Ken.
  10. In one of Chesters posts he mentioned the Jamboree bag and the Jubbly and the everlasting strip witch as I recall was made of toffee and took forever to get through. Can anybody remember any of the other things they had when they were kids in the late 1950s early 60s ie Joysticks they were long fags. Catch you later. Ken.
  11. This is a topic that I have talked about in an earlier posting. I first went fishing aged twelve with my dad and he would not let me go fishing on my own untill I was fifteen, at the time I thought it unfair but looking back I learnt a lot about fishing in thoss three years. I have seen young lads fishing without an adult ( ie) I was fishing a small local lake, two young lads about 14 years old asked me if I could unhook a fish for them. they had walked the hooked fish from the the other side of the lake. Fishing at Farlows one day three lads all about thirteen years old had a run, they landed the carp I went over to have a look at the fish, and there they were trying to pull a barbed hook out. What can you do.
  12. Nathen I cant see how a big bankstick will make it easier to detect a bite, what I used to register a bite years ago was either a ball of bread paste on the line between the reel and the front rest, or a bell from the pet shop the small ones they put in bird cages tied to the end ring of the rod, that was forty odd years ago, but it worked. Catch you later. Ken.
  13. Johnathon Ross. That curry I had last night has given me a dose of Diawier, now I cant go fishing on the wiver for those wudd and woach. ( I know it's crap ) but i tried
  14. lAST jULY I fancied a change from carp fishing so I picked my brother-in-law up, we called in to my local tackle shop got loads of maggots. any way we got down to the river, opened the boot of the car to find loads of the little buggers all over the place, thought I had picked them all up (wrong) any way her in doors wanted me to take her shopping the following week, I opened the car door to find fifty or so blue bottles flying around, the wife came out with some swear words that even I would not use on the plus side she went shopping on the bus. You have to laugh dont you. Catch you later.
  15. Great idea. I'll have some of that. Your round mines a double Catch you later.
  16. Yes it is sad, sad to see flowers laid on the side of a lake or river at the spot where a youngster has fallen in and drown. I aint no schola, but ( although they were lots ) dont sound right to me ( although THERE were lots ) that sounds better. Bye Bye. Ken.
  17. If either of my boys at the age of 11 went fishing on their own I would have hit the roof, apart from the fact that most children that age are not permitted to fish on most lakes without an adult, it would be very hard for a child that age to keep the rod under control and manage the landing net as well if they hooked a very big fish. I have been fishing for 44 years since I was 12 years old, for the first three years I was only allowed to go if my dad came with me, I learnt a lot in those three years. Ken
  18. Only fined £480 including cost, it should have been at least £4.000 amd six months in the nick. £480 its a joke. I hope the anglers that fish his water give it a miss from now on. Thats all I have to say on the subject I could say more but i am not very good at spelling the swear words Catch you later Ken.

  22. Hi Dean. I see from your profile that you live kent,so here are a few locations and phone numbers that may be of help to you. Brooklands lakes, near Dartford. Chiddingston castle lake, Tel 01892 870347. Chilham water mill, Tel 01227 730668. School pool near Faversham Tel 01795 534516. These are all good carp waters. Catch you later, Ken.
  23. Hi Darren. If you are using pva bags the first thing to remember is to make your hook length fairly short using one of the bags you intend to use lay it out flat and that will give you some idea of the length you need your hook length to be. What I do is drop the hook into the bag and push it through the bottom of the bag pull it through and poke the tip of the hook into the side of the bag, I use a table spoon to load the bag, drop your lead in so it is near the top of the bag using pva string tie the bag just above the lead. Hope it is of some help. Catch you later Ken.

Hello Bigman. I would suggest you leave your gear at home and take a walk along your local river or round a local lake and ask some of the anglers if they would mind giving you some help and advice, pick on the older anglers because most of us old f--ts will be happy to help new anglers get started. Hope you have as many happy years fishing as I have and if nothing else it gets you away from ( her indoors for a few hours ) Catch you later. Ken.
