It's 28 at the moment in Staffs and it's 11.13pm.

There's a bloke stripping and repainting his barge on the local canal, he has been moored in my favourite swim for 2 weeks now with the full array of power tools. I was wondering if this is legal as if he is stripping lead paint (which is going straight into the canal), is it a pollution risk. :confused: Any comments on this as it's something that has been on my mind and am considering phoning the EA.

Cheers Andy1, that's the one. Can you give any more info, i'm interested in fishing for the carp and was wondering about sizes and baits. Also do you know if the place gets busy with anglers night fishing.

Rich I've caught a carp on the bait everytime I've used it so far. I've been using two on a hair and been impressed uptil now.

Also at the fishery entrance, which you would miss if you blinked, was a very weathered wooden sign that was unreadable.

It is on farm land and you can drive right up to the pools. Think there were 5 pools in all with (I think) trout in one of them. I was told that you buy your tickets from a large house which is only a couple of hundred yards from the pools. I am not local to this venue but did notice it was close to some of the BNR workings. :confused:

Just giving this a bump as someone must know this place, it's not far from the M42 in the Cannock area (ish).

Hello, off to Exmouth at the end of the month for a week. Any tips on venues and species to target etc. Thanks for any help.

Had a walk around a fishery last night in Essington (?). There were a number of small pools and was told that night fishing was allowed at the weekend. That's all the information I could get, so was wondering if any on the forum have knowledge of this place. :confused:

The one on the right has got attitude, flicking the V's like that......"dear" me.

MikeyP I've done ok by adding a sprinkling of groundbait on to hemp/sweetcorn and leaving it for a few minutes to soak up the moisture. I then add some pure hemp oil to the mix and find this does the trick. I use Sensas hemp oil that comes in a white plastic bottle, it's a lot cheaper than some of the carp bait companies.

I'm only an occasional beach angler with no great knowledge of beachcasters, but having read a decent review in Sea Angler I bought a Shakespeare Odessa when they were new on the market. Seems to me to be a good rod for the minimum outlay, but as I say, I have no great knowledge of beachcasters.

Your at the right place Andy. Think there is a few that fish it regulary on here. Over to you guys and gals.
