  2. Hi Paul I can't think of a book but recommend the magazine "Improve your Coarse Fishing". It has lots of hints and tips as well as colour diagrams. Welcome to angling, hope you enjoy it as much as me. Ant
  3. Glad to be of any help.
  4. Can anyone give me the dimensions for the Nash Nomad Profile carrying system or the Nash Nomad Titan 1 carrying system. Many thanks
  5. Hi Saskcarp Badger promote it's tackle as being cheap, although cheap does not always mean rubbish. I've had a few items from them in the past, some good, some not so good. Their chairs are strong and robust with pretty good quality, so i'd imagine the same with the bedchairs. You should expect them to be on the heavy side as they utilise steel instead of aluminium. The luggage i've used before were all pretty good so good value there. Alas there have been some poor products, ie: rod pods, which I couldn't recomend. Also I wouldn't have to much confidence in their bait. Couldn't comment on their rods as i've never seen or used any. Ant
  6. I see in the news media that some local councils are banning hot cross buns being served in schools. Why?......it seems that they offend non-christians. Is it just me that is made to feel antisocial because of these rule makers, or are there others? My daughter doesn't have a black board at school, they have a chalk board! She's never heard the nursery rhyme "bar bar black sheep! I don't know about bombing Iraq, we should be bombing these idiots who make these rules and the people who claim to be offended. What happened to the saying..."when in Rome......" Soon i'll be expected to appologise for being British.
  7. Cheers Gaffer, come up trumps yet again. Ant I've got some Richworth banana ester floaters, which i'm not quite confident in and want to give them a boost. Thanks again [ 27. March 2003, 05:28 PM: Message edited by: aanthony ]
  8. Can anyone help? I've some solar pot shots which i'm wanting to make into boilie dips. It says on the label that they can be used as "a soak for up to 5 kilos of boilies" and "used as a dip/soak for hookbaits". I'm not sure how to go about doing this.....do you mix them with water? Any help would be appreciated. Ant

Thanks to you both I've got all the bits and bobs, it's just bait that I need a tackle shop for. Mind you, I have been known to spend hours in tackle shops just looking around. (so the girlfriend says) Thanks again Ant

    hemp

Moose. Fill half of a sause pan with your hemp. Then add water, enough to cover the hemp by about 2 inches. Then it's just a matter of putting the hemp onto boil. Once it's boiling, turn heat down and leave to simmer. It's ready when the hemp splits and you can see a white sprout. Any residue water left once strained can be used when making up groundbait. Some people prefer to leave their hemp to soak over night before they go on to do the above.
  12. The deluxe brotel version ( with added side panels ), is in the 2002 Bennetts course cat. Could also try them, £43 if I remmember right. Ant
  13. I can remember seeing them advertised at Brundle Angling at only £29.99, but that was before christmas. Worth a try though. Ant

    isle of wight

Thanks Dave My first visit of the year will be in May. Can anyone reccommend a tackle shop on the island as I can't remember ever seeing one. I'll be staying in the village of Wroxall near Shanklin. Many thanks to all replies. Ant
  15. I've been using a Relum Brotel for a couple of years and love it. The design is pure brilliance, no drafts, no spreaders and quicker to erect than a conventional brollie. Ant

I know of a small jetty between Lake and Shanklin that many years ago had a small kiddies fair on it, thought about having ago there, any thoughts? Also thought maybe have a chance of conga off the rocks at Alum Bay...?
