  1. I had a look at quite a few and eventually went for the Nash Barrow, which I must say I am very impressed with, You can get them for about £80, the main reason I liked it was that it had two wheels on the front which makes pushing it alot easier. I have seen numerous people pushing all there gear along with a one wheeled barrow and it looks alot more of an effort. It also has a rest for your rod bag which helps create a very stable and secure arrangement. Cheers Jon
  2. I had alot of my gear nicked and my insurance claim was through Bos Fish. They where OK, but i had to wait for ages for some of the stuff. I have ordered other items from them and they have been OK, but there are much better as Bos Fish are expensive. Try the following sites: - http://www.carpcabinsheffield.co.uk/tackle/index2.htm http://www.poingdestres.co.uk/ Hope this is of some help. Cheers Jon
  3. Excellent Idea!!! I will give that a go later in the year. Cheers Jon
  4. QUOTE]I've been known to use a piece of stick with a couple of float rubbers on waters where the fish were wary of controllers and the like. It gives the casting weight but particularly if fishing near trees the fish barely give it a second glance when it lands. [/QB] I have used this meathod as well and found it to be very effective. Cheers Jon

  7. Keith, How does the brolly bear up in really cold and wet weather, is it as warm as a dome? Dom, Check out the following URL: - http://www.carpcabinsheffield.co.uk/tackle/index2.htm Cheers Jon
  8. Julian, Cheers for the links!!! I liked the look of the Fox Easy Dome as it looked well protected in there and is quick and easy to put y and take down. Cheers Jon
  9. I need to get a new Bivvy / tent and bed chair, I was thinking the Fox Easy Dome for £170 (Does anyone know somewhere cheaper) and the Fox Ultra 3 leg bed chair for £150 (Again does anyone know somewhere cheaper). I would appreciates your views on whether these are the best bet for my budget or whether there is something better for the same or less money. Thanks in advance for your advice. Cheers Jon [ 21. Cheers Mate!!!!!
  12. I use 20lb which is about the same diameter as 8lb mono, you could use 15lb, but the braid is so thin that you may as well use the stronger BS.
  13. Braid has a much smaller diameter than mono, so you should be able to fit more braid on a spool than mono. Make sure you get a floating braid as they tend to be thinner and cast much better than the sinking braids. the problem is that you will have to spend about £20 for 150 yards of braid, mind you it will last you ages. Hope this is of some help. Cheers Jon [ 20. February 2003, 04:10 PM: Message edited by: JMW ]

    Roach and Rudd

Rudd, Thanks for for your input!!! I dont have a pole, I have a 13 ft cheap float rod. When you say "Put in a pot of chopped worm or chopped worm and caster", do you mean ground bait around the hook bait, if so what sort of size pot? I have been using 5lb ine with 4lb Flouro carbon hooklength with size 16 hook. I think I might get some size 20 hooks to nylon. Do you think i should get some new line, if so what would you recomend. Once again, thanks for your help. Cheers Jon
  16. I mainly fish for Carp and Pike but have recently joined a club that runs a 6 acre lake with loads of Roach, Rudd and Perch. I would like to give this a try and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers for these speies in this cold weather. Cheers Jon
