  1. i fish on the thornaby ac stretch at barwick farm and i was wondering if anyone has managed to hit the bream on the feeder there. Its a bit narrower than thornaby and slightly shallower.I have been told it holds a good head of bream but all i seem to be getting into are the perch. this may because i use maggots rather than worm.I was wondering if anyone else has fished there and if so,what baits they used and what distance they cast etc etc.
  2. i recently got a seahawk 400 dinghy to get into those spots that you cant get to on foot.Has any1 else done this? What results did you get?
  3. yea,i thought it was down south somewhere. I cant find it anywhere

  5. not tryin to dis shimano, just givin the bloke an alternative thats all.The next best thing. I would go for shimano every time.
  6. im currently looking for a new seat box.It is maily for feedier fishing on my local river tees.I would consider myself as a serious angler and i suppose i could say that i will consider all prices. I just cant justify paying 700 quid for a milo seat box when i can get a preston on box for half that. Is the tardis really worth the cash? are there any alternatives,i am not one for big names , so cheaper alternatives are welcome, but if the big names are the best then i spose i better bite the bullet and go for it. Any advice?
  7. okuma epix pro,70 quid ish, does the same job.It doesnt ry to be the best, but it takes it all in its stride,a great reel.
  8. i would go for the edge.It comes with 2 tips,on for size 10 elastic which is a good all rounder and it also comes with a power tip for size 20 hit and hold tactics capable of taming a big double no probs. They go on ebay for 30/40 ishi i think, they are 5m but im sure they have a 1.5 m extension.
  9. last year i read an article about an indoor fishing venue.I cant remember if it was proposed or if it was actually built. Can anybody shed any light on this for me.
  10. i want to get a 2man dingy for my local river, nothing fancy, maybee with a small engine or even one without. I was just wondering if I need a liscence to have 1?
  11. jesus,is it the wrong time of the month for you lot or something?
  12. any1 tried using 30lb braid instead of wire?
  13. any1 know of any lakes ponds not effected by closed season that are worth fishing for pike in the teesside/durham area???
  14. I would imagine that a lot of revenue is made in catching people in the closed season. If it were abolished, the ea would loose out. Would they raise licence prices?Or maybee more free stretches goin up fpr sale ?I think there are serious pros and cons to add up on this matter.
  15. perhaps use small pellets as feed and stick a big lumper on the hook.Always works for me.
  16. my advice would be to buy froma tackle shop. And i would also hasten to add that quality gear lasts!Dont go buying cheap crap, cos that is all it is.
  17. milo make a good rig,as do drennan.Trouble is,a lot of them are made to 5 meters, which isnt that good really.
  18. sounds bout rite,cheers,il have 2 b more patient,im using esp mono straight thru.15lb,this shud b ok?
  19. i have recently been fishing at my club lake and have whitnessed several upper 20s fish feeding on bits of bread that i have chucked in,when i freeline a bit to them they go no where near it.I know this could be a due to a lot of things but i think it is because of my cast.It makes a different sound as it hits the water so the fish alomst instinctively know not to touch it. Are there any casting methods that wont spook them as much,or are there any hooking methods that i should try. At the moment i am using a bait pin to thread the hook trough the bread and then hooking the crust so it stays on longer.I was using size 12s but these just pulled out on the rare occasion that i got a take. Any advice?
  20. try a running ledger rig. Put a bead about 10 inches from your hook,size10 - 8 ish.The ledger runs free up an down the line but stops at the bead.get a thin slice of bread and take out a fist full from the middle.,bend the bread as if it were a taco.Nip the middle of the taco shape so that you are left with a flower shape brad mass.Simply put the hook through the nipped bit twice then the hook into the nip so the hook is up side down. Now it is up to you if you want it on the surface or just under.Just regulate how much line is out,the bread will puff up and i guarantee those carp will dive at it.If u want a pic of this let me know and il do 1 4 u [ 05.
