  1. Hi Lee..Not too sure about using you're scale hook to test knot strength...The scale manufacturer's seem to advise against it as it can damagage the scales if the line breaks...I hook it through the handle of my scisor's and give it a tug...I like the paloma (think that's how it's spelt)knot my-self for general hook and swivel tying...Jim....

  4. Just had a look at Chris's beautiful workmanship. Not sure how long it would take to make one of these, but think of how much you would expect for the time involved and materials used, and I'm sure the price will seem quite reasonable. Had a look at the price of up market fly reel's lately? (doubt if they're hand made!)...Proud owner of a newley aquired Adcocks Stanton... Thank's for the advice Paul and Tony...Jim...
  5. Would somone please explain what this "fishing for all movement" is about? You see I've never heard of it until reading about it on A.N. my own fault because I don't read angling weekley's very often..Many thank's..Jim..As for Syndicates It depend's on how they're defined..To me they are good in as much as they can be controlled and the fisherie's made as good as the amount of effort the member's are prepared to put in. Also the member can be gaurenteed to to be able to fish when he turn's up..My main grouse with organization's like the B.A.A. was that the match booking's precluded the best water's from use at the weekend's, (although that is not so prevelent nowaday's because the river match scene is no where near as popular as in the past) Anyway my limited experience of syndicates is that they are good in most instances. Although if they just want to take over a water With the sole intention of denying access then I'm not so sure...I don't think this would happen in too many cases and without having the fact's in every case I would not contemplate passing any opinion on it
  6. Sorry about the double "whammy"..Don't know how it happened..Must be my stammer...
  7. Hi Chubby...Don't know too much about fishing in Bridgenorth it's self, but a mile or two out on the Kidderminster road the B.A.A. have the Danery water, and below that Quatford and all the way down to the Red Lion at Hampton Load..The stretch below the Red Lion is Kinver A.S.they have about 80 peg's..Day ticket on the bank..I take it you know the river below there. The B.A.A. have 8 pool's at Nordley, which is three miles out of Bridgenorth on the B4373 To-wards Brosley..There is also a commercial complex about a couple of milesout just off that road as well, but the name escape's me, although I have fished it a few years ago..Hope this is of some help..Regard's Jim....
