Sorely tempted, but then you're only kidding yourself! Just glad it came AFTER having had a proper 4....
-
Meant to be getting colder again next week - I'd try and get out for them in the next 2-3 days!!
-
That snowdrop looks a bit reluctant to unfurl - hardly surprising given how cold it was!
-
Well done Tom. So much for conventional wisdom eh? I had a 3 yesterday as well!!! Water temp on the river yesterday evening was 43ºF and I bet the canal was even lower. Should have been pretty hopeless for perch so that is some haul.
-
Challenge accepted!!!Well done Chris, congratulations on the new PB. My first four from last season was 4.02 as well. Now you need to catch a 4.06 on the last day of the season! :-)
-
I have last week off too - having the same thoughts! ;-)
-
Cheers Elton - really pleased that Rusty was there to see it too - and to take some piccies!
-
Great pic - and great to have yet another Kenneter in blogland - think I can guess where you were fishing too!!
-
Yes - not very discriminating on that front - in fact on the Itchen I've found corn a bit of a trout magnet at times (but it also attracts large grayling there)!
-
Ah yes I remember - he did that for the last BC fish-in I organised for AN - just realised that was in 2009!
-
See Rusty's blog for picture of slack!

I couldn't buy a bite on saturday at Thatcham!
Which was sort of what we were expecting to happen!
-
Yeah, my wrist was killing me after an hour! The perch were a big surprise really didn't expect to see them put in an appearance - only really fished for them to see if I could get a perch in the snow piccy....
-
Certainly pine-ing for LD this winter - with these high waters those carriers will be stuffed with monster dace! Such a shame!
-
Was a bit of a graft around the middle of the day - thankfully the fading light turned things around! The reel will still be in my quiver on Sat so you can have a gawp then if Saturday 'happens'!
-
Chris needs to be aware of the force above if he's fishing where I think he is !!!!
-
Thanks Steve - it was actually me feeling smug at the weekend - as I think Rusty's prospected here without too much success earlier in the autumn - think it has a lot of potential - though might suffer from having too many stripeys!
-
John - I love your new Avatar - Stained Glass of Isaac Walton from Winchester Cathederal isn't it?
-
Thanks all, Chris you were right about the location, fewer features than there used to be perhaps but maybe still enough to keep them there. I need to go for a couple more sessions to see if it's a holding spot or I was just in the right place at the right time.
Ahh - Paul and I have been baiting it up for you then! ;-)

Well done for finding them Chris - I'd practically given up on locating them there - hence our jaunt upstream on Saturday.
-
Upstart - I've been blogging here since 07 (and before on a previous Elton project) without comment from Mr Murphy. Then again he did have to upgrade the entire forum so that I could continue - so for that alone he gets a from me too!
-
Mr Smith I presume - nice to see you putting in an appearance here!
-
Umm - nice looking stream....me like. And surely that roach is more of a pet!
-
No that is rule 3A!
