Everywhere is a bit of a struggle at the moment and will continue to be so until we get some rain. Brimpton is a good a place as any to start if you've got a NAA book.

Thanks John. It's a fish which if I'd lost without seeing I'd have put down as a trout - it fought just like one dashing about the weirpool in mad surges. I played it way too hard - as I'm not too bothered about suffering hook pulls from brownies - got the shock of my life when this popped up to the surface!

Err... 59 trips so far this season (many quite short) - I don't fish from March 15th - June 15th and just the 2 blanks. (Only had 1 blank last year )

Had a couple of blanks back in the summer - see enteries for 25 August & 21 July. I guess at this time of year its a case of knowing the waters really well - this was/is one of my 'banker' swims especially in the winter and to be honest I was hoping to get a 5lb+ chub that day!!!

Thanks for the kind words, Andy. The Lambourn's a great place for a short session (all the more so for being free!!) A good place to go when the weather's cold or the Kennet's in flood.

You'll get more response posting these sorts of questions on the main coarse board rather than a blog...
