  9. gotta agree !! credit where creidt is due they took time to produce the site etc... but for quality info look at the rig clinic, fishing magic, RMC Angling website (can i say that Mods?) all full of information worth remembering
  10. certainly was your spot on there i been once in the 90's, would have been alright if there was 40 lines in the water if you werent on the right swim, you werent in with a chance not the way big carp waters should be !! took a nice crucian out the 2nd lake though just under 2lb !!
  11. tell me about it !! and i cant get there for another 2 weeks due to the concerts that are on havent heard from him today tho, as he got his phone turned off.
  12. You will need to pre book your session as its crambed every day basically !! did its forst 40lber not so long ago very very commercial tho, persoanlly i can think of better waters to fish !!
  13. Chesh

    Hemp

IMO LEAVE IT !!! the hemp is at its best boiled then sealed in a bucket retaining all its natural oils etc.. for an added attraction a tea spoon of 'Chilli Powder' works a treat !!
  14. Elton matey i went to see him last night for an hour on way home from work, fish all over the place. Had a text a short while later saying he had another 20, this time at 26lb 12 again the worm doing the trick. Pukkaroooony !! and as you say like a kid at Xmas
  15. In response to Pete - wouldnt know mate he seemed tho to give them a good plug when i spoke to him tho ?? if anyone can clear this up it would be appreciated !! and yes the website does need updating, but most of the deals are very similiar i think, as the magazine adverts ! (correct me if wrong)
  16. good luck then fella, and keep us posted on how you get on as well as haviogn sharp hooks, i must stress and you might already know this but LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION !!!!!!! find your quarry and then go after them
  17. A message to Alan Just a quick one Alan what a great thread this is, going from one extreme to the other, the pictures on this post and other posts of the sea fish are superb and am chuffed to bits that you can carry on with your chosen quaryy after all was deemed lost Superb matey, and cant wait to read the future write ups of the trips you have with fellow AN members excellent
  18. you might need to wet drill the stone to make an small hole to put the swivel in you could tho if fishing very snaggy waters glue them to the top, there fore when a fish goes into the snags the stones will easily come away from the swivel safe fishing if you ask me !! Other than that Araldite is ya stuff
  19. thats a good question, and one which i will struggle to answer, others might be more technology minded correct in saying about the line stretch, briad has virtually (if any) stretch at all mono, with its stretch is obviously going to stretch when the force of the lift/strike hits the weight of the fish, however it may not really cause any effect until the line is shorter and the fish is in the margins (i know what i want to say but the technical terms evade me lol )
  20. did you catch tho matey?? and a wise choice on rods
  21. can really recomend the Stealth Skin the coating comes off very easily and the knot strength is superb !! Keep an eye on the Gardner/Sufix stable as there is some good stuff in the pipeline they have also updated there website with some new pictures in the gallery
  22. IMO the quality is good, i have got a fair few friends who have brought oval brollys, rods, bait etc.. from them with no problems what so ever I spoke to Des Taylor at a show not so long ago and he said that they have listened to there customers who have had problems and taken measures to eradicate the problems, and by the looks of things they have They do great offers for newbies on rods, reels etc.. and if i was to be asked by anyone on a budget on where to buy tackle from i would recomend them entirely
  23. you shouldnt really have to strike, as the above post reiterates, sharp hooks are a must if the hook goes home, you wont need to strike, just lift and wind if your fishing at extreme range you might have to give a decent strike to set the hook home, due to the length of line out there, it might look tight but could be a slight bow due to underwtaer currents etc... (yes lakes have currents but thats another topic) All in all i would say lift and wind, and have sharp hooks, if you in doubt about the sharpness of your hook, get another one out the pack and tie it !!
  24. cut them into chunks and fry them !! works a treat with luncheon meat also gets the oils going
  25. oooops wrong end of stick !! sorry but i have had no problems with orders and returns etc...
