  1. Simon, DONT!! Glue will make the knot/line brittle, and therfor weak. Fellow Jambo, Yes your knot may be the problem (my fravrite of late for neatness + stregnth- spider hitch!) But some places you fish you are going to be throwing away tackle by using shockleaders no matter what knot you use, and im saying this in prosuming that your fishing our local east coast (tackle graveyard) If so i suggest change to using 35lb mono strieght through - no leaders. Remember a rotten bottem contraption, this will save yir rigs and fish! Doesent matter if this cuts distance, cos oor fish are fairly close anyway!! Shaun

  6. Newt, No tricks to fish this type of ground. Lots of our east coast cod fishing is done on similar stances. NO FINESSE!!!! 35lb mainline, fast reels and stiff rods. Hit and haul like theres no tomorow, else you will probaby loose the rig and fish. Not for the faint hearted, or anyone used to clean sandy beaches
  7. That one wrapped its tail round some kelp, i had to haul it out...
  8. yes and no. it was short lived (30 seconds) but for the time i had it on it was going absolutgely mental! not best pleased !
  9. Got there in the end cheers davy... It wieghed 20lb 8oz. Was awesome watch her glide back in the depths (err shallows)

  14. A certain fastd has got a report to do, so il be brief I have came to one conclusion this weekend... Bass are infact, a s***e Bait... demon I got a new PB skate of 155lbs, and a shore fish of a lifetime, Conger Eel of 20lbs 8oz Thanks to Davy, Albert and everyone else involved in making it a truly memorable weekend.. Im sure photographs will follow

  22. Apart from the odd bit of language, and apparent northener bashing, it was sensable enough... We are all just peope with diffrent opinions, but are braught together in sport... No need in argumenting
