  1. Stripers in the north sea?!! Tell me more....
  2. Peter I've just re-read the page and all I can get out of it, when you look through the bile, is that they are a broad based country sports organisation who also champion rural issues. What on earth is wrong with that? The authors of the page, corporate watch, are clearly totally anti "blood" sports, and you may notice they seem to catagorise fishing as a "blood" sport. What don't you like about the CA? I can't imagine there is any harm in having an organisation which covers all field sports (including fishing) and general rural issues under one umbrella. You may not, personally, be too keen on being associated with shooters, hunters, farmers etc but if the "antis" group us all together we might as well show a united front against them.

  4. I don't care who the reference points are, if that is a reasonable description of the CA from an unbiased source, in the words of Hugh Falkus, "My cock's a lobster"

  6. Looks like corporate watch are an organisation not to be trusted or given much credance, thanks for the heads up Peter. [ 14 May 2002, 09:13 AM: Message edited by: Tim Kelly ]

  8. That description seems entirely fair and balanced. Can't imagine corporatewatch.org.uk have any political angle themselves at all!

  10. I wouldn't mind small mouths in the Thames and Tiger Musky everywhere. I dunno how these little lakes seem to be able to put sterlet, catfish and orf and other odd things in but the idea of anything the rest of the world might think of as a Game Fish, and fun to catch throws the EA into fits? Predators must be finite as they can only survive if there are enough bait fish for them to live on. The only thing that would be effected as far as I can think would be the numbers of other predatory species. How is it OK to stock rainbow trout in any pond you dig in the ground but not smallmouths? Confused Tim

  12. http://www.cabelas.com. They have 8lb and 10lb. If you want to use it for lure fishing I would suggest that it's too light really. Cabelas have the best price I've found for PP, even with the shipping etc taken into consideration.

  14. I doubt it, they just have very sharp teeth that cut cleanly. Like when you cut yourself shaving, the cut takes ages to stop bleeding, I think their teeth cut in a similar way.

  18. If you can use a boat, why not fish out of it? Or have I missed something?

  20. I don't think you can buy leaded petrol anymore, so I bet boats are running on that, or diesel. Duck season is over and you have to use non lead shot for all wildfowl. Are you sure it wasn't a pigeon banger?
