I think a third party insurance could well be worth while but for a nominal fee and run by the DVLA or post office would be fine but pretty hard to enforce. I'm not going to get involved in Knocking what you do or don't get , but suffice to say topping up your contributions to pay for your pension is only right (Did you offer to do that or where you told to?), and secondly after 19 years of work in this country I was still a young man less than half way through my working life and only cost the system a few plaster casts and a couple of boxes of Antibiotics. I am grateful to say I have never been out of work (the thought of which truly frightens me) I also have absolutely no problem with being part a country that helps the needy aboard or at home In the latter case your good self sir.
