  1. A different solution maybe? If you go for a Cobra F&D - the Malibu Gator hatch fits as a bow hatch - the gator hatch is a second seat for a little person......complete with the little fella's own rod holders....a great why to justify the expense to your sheila - "I'll take little Bruce out with me - and give you some peace" - when he gets bored - you chuck the gator hatch in the garage - or stick it on ebay!! You'll need to get it from USA or here in Oz - its light, if a bit bulky - so shouldn't cost too much to ship? Malibu kayaks(nothing to do with malibu II) hatches all fit cobra gear. You can see one here - little picture to the left of yak..... http://www.fishyak.com/xfactor.html The Pro Tandem 2 (not available in UK but will be soon) is a great tandam option - mainly as it performs great as a single also, unlike riding a tandem bike where you look a complete galah on your own!! You can take a peek at whats coming to the UK here http://www.fishyak.com/protandem.html Hope this helps (probably not!!) Fishyak!
  2. G'day guys Jon & Joey's site Kayakfishingstuff is argueably the best kayak fishing resource in the world - you won't have any problems ordering your gear ........other than your vat man wanting his 17.5% when it gets there!!
  3. Hi Murph Perth WA........best part!! There are much less sophisticated methods of getting your beast on your car - the easiest being a bar that extends out from underneath one of your racks - then with a bit of practice you lift the bow up onto the bar - then go to the stern of your yak and lift it parralel - at the same time pushing the bugger onto your roof - a skill easily mastered!! 4. G'day Mate Trailers......... Single yak trailers are available in the USA and they will export to Pommieland and here in Oz check out http://www.trailex.com/buycat.cfm?mcat=85&cat_id=85 If you ask them to send minus wheels and hubs - you can fit local gear - to make sure it complies with your local authorities... it also makes it lighter to ship Another option is a hullivator - its just come on the market - allows anybody, even frail old wrinklies to put a heavy yak on even a 4x4 you can eyeball one of those here http://www.fishyak.com/thule_hullivator.html Hope this helps! 5. This isn't me - unfortunately - and I apologise if you've seen it before - but for those that haven't.........enjoy!
  6. Yibadi yibada Mates Changed me name to fishyak - downunder fishyaker was getting too long to write....... Re leaning towards Cobra F&D - I bloody hope not!! The only thing my baby has in common with a F&D is it floats, and the payload - a whopping 600lb No hull slap Dry arse fast - even though its a fat bugger. Venturi hull I set off once a week from a place called Ocean Reef and paddle up the coast to Mindarie (8kms)just outta the breaking surf - watching the joggers on the beach - I'm keeping up with them. For a fat 110kg (19 stone in your money) bloke - I'm impressed. Pull up at the Marina - get my wheel cart outta my bow hatch - take my removeable back pack off my seat(which has my wallet & phone in) drag the X up the ramp, head for the coffee strip, TOTALLY dry. Order a flat white (coffee) and call my sheila to bring the car - lifes really hard here!! - oh! nearly forgot to mention - with a popper trolling off the back - sometimes get my lunch too! [ 19. 7. Ha Ha! I wondered who would pick up on the kangaroo meat factory in the background..... Really glad you blokes can take a joke - what with the Ashes coming up soon
  8. Hi again This has the standard bow hatch on a Fly Fishing Trip in the South West. A place called Pemberton - result 12 red fin perch The bright yellow hull is due to the sun rising thought I'd explain that - as you blokes might not recognise the sun [ 19. 9. G'day Newt The black item is called a Gator hatch (coz it looks like a gator). This gives the X factor, extreme and pro ex a second seat for a little person - complete with their own rod rests - its not standard with the malibu's i'll post pictures with the other standard bow hatch later.. 13. G'day YY Strewth - north sea cod! fearsome bugger that! Yes - I'm the first X Factor owner in Australia, as I'm a bit of a lard arse it was fly one in from the USA or Cobra F&D locally - and I wasn't happy with that choice. Its new here in WA, but a year or two old in QLD a bit happens in SA but thats it so far....... not good in north WA - a bloke in a yellow yak got it bit in half by a frisky male salt water croc a week or two back. You've got to be a bit of a galah to go yakkin up there - the crocs either want to fight you as they think your a male or shag you coz they think your a female - either way - its not good!! This is the right place for it mate......we've got more coastline than Califorina!! and better weather. Thanks for the welcome Its going to be as big here as in the USA, like you pom's we follow the yanks - eventually!!
  14. G'day Ha! XF - that'll be a play on Malibu XF actor then!! Hope they've done something about the hull slap
  15. G'day The local fishing magazine here in Perth WA are running a 3 page article next month on fly fishing from a kayak. Once its been printed I'll upload bits of it (if I can work out how?) I know the writer personally, thats why I know about it in advance!!
  16. Get my gear from www.fishyak.com here in Australia. They export all over the world - gears not cheap, but top quality. The seats and wheels are ripper! Downunder Fishyaker
