    Windermere Ferox

Lovely fish there great condition. How common are ferox on windermere?.
  2. Check out the forum on this site www.wild-fishing-scotland.co.uk they have a whole section for float tubers.friendly and helpfull.
  3. Yes.that would be the sort of place.I go to the SECC in glasgow to book.
  4. I go from troon to belfast then drive down south every year.I have found the best way to get a bargain ferry crossing is to go to one of the national shows like the outdoor show or more recently the holiday show. The irish tourist board and the ferry companies are always there and always have deal on the go especially if you book there and then.Check if there one of these shows near you and go along for a look.
  5. Bought mine on monday morningand they burst today the upper part has come away from the sole.Pity they looked fairly well made when i bought them.

    Grayling rod

Cabelas are a american tackle dealer.Ive used them to buy lures etc in the past very efficient and cheap. They have a massive website.Check it out.Shows you just how much we get ripped off for our fishing tackle over here.

    Rapala

Rapala floating minnow in 9cm size is deadly for trout. The minnow and gold/black colours are out standing. But they dont cast well. When shore fishing mepps & droppens and 10 gram tobies are much better.Or better still natural minnow.
  8. I think in his book ron greer recommends fishing for ferox with dead baits at night particularly charr.Could be wrong i gave my book to my bro to read so i cant check. I've found ferox can come on late evening on some lochs just as light is fading.
  9. 18 CM ORIGINAL FLOATING RAPALA.IN RAINBOW TROUT COLOURS OR GOLD.IVE HAD A LOT OF SUCCESS WITH THIS LURE.ALSO THE LARGE FLOATING RAPALA MAGNUMS DO THE BIZ.
  10. £3.50.?I got charged a fiver by some joker in a jeep.
  11. I've seen that impact.A wild trout loch 5 mins from my door that i fished since i was a kid was totally destroyed by the stocking of pike. The **** that done it was quite open and proud of his actions. His reason??His own local water was too easy. What a ****
  12. Kevin. I dont think al be fishing it again this year the charr have moved out into the deep water.Yes we always catch brownies here too.I have only fished this loch for ferox once. But i really should give it a serious go.A lot of the charr i've caught have been badly mauled. And there are so many of them there must be good ferox in there. CHEERS FERGIE
  13. I dont think anyone in their right mind really wants to fill a freezer with charr. Most are too small to eat and theres only so much bait we need. But those charr i take are the only fish killed in the season. But i know what you mean some people take things to extremes(look at what a great fisherman i am)I've seen it ALL on our lochs. Ferox fishermen catching 20 charr a year is the least of our problems...FERGIE..
  14. Paul You should visit some of these loch when the charr are active youll see that there are plenty of them and taking some for bait once a year is doing no harm at all.
  15. No its not the doine its the voil.Top of the loch near the river between the lochs.Cant go wrong the waters thick wi them. CHEERS FERGIE.
