  1. Kev Nash really doesn't look well these days does he!?!?!?!?!
  2. Here, here Newt..........Carp Boy this place is chatting and helping not disrespecting I'm with most of the other lads cuffmeister, thin the gear down as much as poss. Have you thought about taking a barrow with you and a waterproof cover? Stand it next to the Bivvy with the stuff you don't need to hand but keep it covered and dry.
  3. You should try the old North East Coast.........from Grimsby here and we've been shivering away through the last few Sessions!!! Caught any? You're having a laugh......still can't catch 'em sat watching the Tele now can I
  4. No, not getting bored with Carp as I like to have a float rod with me for a spot of the "other" whenever I go...........even been known to flick the odd spinner or spoon out during the winter months!!!! frosty Treach515 [ 01. October 2005, 08:24 PM: Message edited by: Treach515 ]
  5. Edd makes a fair comment........if you're not at range a PVA bag certainly removes any doubt. I would take that one stage further and say a stringer or small PVA web bag is very effective for avoiding tangles, especially at night!! For your night casting, try something like magic marker. If you tie this at rod tip after casting and clip to this (at the rod tip) you will feel the marker knot rattle through the rings and should feather straight away......it should hit the clip and drop on the button!! Use the tree/pylon silouette tip for lining up and you won't go far wrong m8!! Cheers Treach515
  6. True, true.......5 foot of snag/shock and still cracking off (lol) gee let me think!!! Have used Quicksilver since it's release, not fished much recently but doubt there's much better......general guide of about one and half rod lengths for me, gives you plenty of room for the big un. Only use it when pumping out a spod or a lead over 3oz (which is very rare). Your set-up sounds fine, let us know how Friday goes and TFI nearly the weekend!!! T
  7. Tend to agree with the chaps who talk about the crictical balance side of things......but IF I do fish a Pop-up it's usually fished no more than an one inch to one and half inch of the bottom (just out of the sh**ty stuff on the bottom) or just tipping the surface on a baking hot day (not very often in dear old Ingerland) Just my thoughts........ T
  8. Pretty much m8! Get it as tight and compact as possible (sounds like the Mrs.!!! Oopps sorry) so it's areodynamic, not too heavy and nip the hook through a corner!!! Works a treat but let us know how you get on......... Cheers T
  9. Have to say BYT but keep that under yer hats chaps!!!
  10. Posted at exactly the same time 15th........spooky!!! ghost ghost
  11. Hi UJ Supanova On the Freezing issue....Thursday now, using them on Sunday? You'd get away with not freezing them. The bait companies do advocate freezing them to keep them as fresh as possible but I've caught plenty of carp before on baits that would be deemed as not fresh!!! PVA bag attaching.....depends what type of bage really m8ty!! You can nip the hook through if the bags are small, you place your entire rig in the bag (lead included) if they are a big bag.....just be careful not to over stress your rods though. A full PVA bag and lead can be pretty heavy, you don't want to crack-off or damage your rods!! Let us know what type of bags and you'll get a more detailed response I would think.
