  1. Musket, anywhere off the normandy d-day beaches is good, a lot of the locals fish just off the breakwater off the Carn ferry port, orther good places are Omaha beach on the left hand side as one looks out to the sea, you will see a small jetty, also a lot of fishing takes place at Courseulies-sur-mer near the swing bridge, just work along the slipway to the end unto the beach, there is also a jetty there. A better place if you are planing to take the kayak is anywhere near the old 1944 harbour at Arromanches, there is a slipway and packing nearby. Also again look at Omaha, you will see a large wreak a few 100 yards out, and good fishing can be had around there, there are also a number of smaller wreaks nearby that have fish, If you see red marker bouys it means pots during the winter and know power boats durring the summer. If you want to know further details just ask, I fish around normandy a lot, terry
  2. No but coming in at 58 lbs for a 12 foot kayak is a bit on the heavy side, liked the idea of dry feet thoe .terry
  3. Hi there, I was thinking about buying one of these myself, but on reading the reviews on a number of sites give up on the idea. sorry but they would be useless on a kayak. From what I have read they are not to good on the river back. terry
  4. Will I stand corrected, I had the idea that only the P13 had a fault, and the only P15,s I have seen have been the same has mine.O well get the newer one. terry
  5. Hi there, to answer your questions, there is only one P15, and yes the scupper hole thing has been sorted, knee straps are not needed, and most people do not use them. The P15 is a long kayak and will fit on your golf with an overhang which you will need to be aware of when driving, parking etc. Things you will need are paddle, PBA, and a set of roof bars. The kayak all depends on what you have plan to do, if river fishing, and lets face it you have some great rivers near you, then the P15 would I feel be a bit long, if nowever you are going to use it for fishing on the saltwater then its a great kayak. Hope this helps. terry
  6. Well it is always interesting to know what people get up to on or with their kayaks. For anyone new to the sport of kayak fishing and a little unsure of getting out on the water, then this may be the answer. .terry
  7. Halfords are becoming a joke with their pricing, I wanted a set of blades for the C3 Halfords wanted over 20 pounds, got the pair from the main dealers for 10 pounds encluding a little man who fitted them, They must of had the idea that with my grey hair was not up to the job, Boy the are so right .terry
  8. You are getting as mad as me .terry
  9. Thats good news, but maybe its just to hard from them to make people pay for hand held, its been free in most of the EU for years. terry
  10. Hi all, know one ssay that the P15 is a dry kayak, my feet always end up in water coming in from the scupper holes. Well we all know that one can buy scupper bungs at around 15 pounds for 4 bungs or so. But I have gone for practice golf balls. You can buy a set of 6 for around 2 pounds. You can see from the pic that not only do the add a bit of colour but they are a good fit for the larger scupper holes. the smaller holes need rubber wine making corks. I think that I am right in thinking that the new desigh P13 and P15 have all large size scupper holes, if so get some balls and keep dry. terry
  11. Thankyou eton, it all makes for interesting reading, went for cat fish in spain myself a few years ago. Not one fish. Only found out later that my spanish guide had less of an idea then I. terry

  15. Yes bill it is nice, been playing around with it all day, kayak goes up, kayak goes down, kayak goes up and kayak goes down. All very sad realy terry
  16. Thanks for thj link, but worry that the vice will not be able to deal with large saltwater flies. I just hate it when the hook keeps moving around, but thanks anyway. terry
  17. Thats a great deal, but don,t forget you will need to add on import tax, something around 60 to 70 pounds on the order, but thats far better then the rubbish being sold here in the UK. Sad thing is I wanted to have the only one terry
  18. Hi I am in need of a good fly tying vice, something like a snowbee A.R vice would be idea. if you have one knocking about please let me know, thanks terry
  19. Hi wanted fly tying vice, for tying larger flies. Something like a snowbee A.R. vice. If you have something like this laying around please let me know. thanks terry
  20. Hi martin, its from the USA. Some thule dealers have it listed in the UK but it is not available. The cost of the rank was 220 pounds, it was on offer and I don,t pay import tax. a lot of money but worth it for saving my back. terry
  21. Zippy, the anser is no. The rack comes complete with attachment straps for the bow and stern of the kayak. I also used a strap around the kayak to the roof bars just in case. But overall it takes the weight very well. terry
  22. Hi again, the pic,s did not attach, so here we go. terry
  23. Well after months of breaking my back loading and unloading the P15, And not to bring up the damage to the paintwork of the car and the hull of the kayak, I can now do it one handed, well almost . Today in thj post came my new toy after 10 days waiting. Its the Thule 897XT Hullavator. After reading all the reports from forums in the states about the old Hullavator made by Talon I was in two minds if to order the XT or not. Well yes I am glad I did, You can see from the pics that the lift to get the kayak onto the rack is two foot, and then you just push the unit up into postion, easy. The weight of teh kayak is taken up by two dampers. Yes there is a bit of play in the system and some of the detail could be better, but It makes taking the kayak so much more fun. The best bit is I can reclaim the import tax .terry
  24. Hi Doshkadog, I have that cart on order, and as I write this its winging its way to me, I placed an order for the twin wheel cart, and Mark is a great chap to deal with and whats more its comes complete with a life time guarantee, and I just don,t think it will fall apart like some plastic carts I have seen. Can,t wait to try it. terry
  25. Zippy, the way they test the shell is to use compressed air, ask them to get someone to sit in it and test it. The fault comes to light when the thin section splits under load. ie when someone sits on the kayak, not just fills it up with compressed air, just not the same forces applied so will not get the same reaction from the shell. But the true state of affairs is that OK knew that the design was wrong and yet went ahead with selling it, even when units started to come back. A great pity, a bit like my boxster when the engine went, they knew it would but did nothing until it did, bad design. Interesting. terry. PS just look at the prices they sale their kayaks for, I saw a hobie outback for sale for 500 USD. TERRY
