  1. high water is around 9a.m. so an early start would be needed as it's only worth fishing the flood,i've always caught more at anchor than on the drift although i have no anchor trolley set up,i just use a bungee connected to my anchor rope and connect it at varying points of the yak, normally behind me to the crate hole bungee
  2. thanks for pointing it out that it was'nt the portable version martin,i phoned purple marine today and had no trouble amending my order-only thing was it cost another 70 odd quid more
  3. spring tide on 3rd dec ,how about a poole harbour flattie bash obviously all other yakfishers would be welcome,is this the start of a hants/dorset fish meet?
  4. thanks for the link starvinmarvin i just bought one for me caper-jeez i must stop buying myself all these toys!
  5. if you want to get last place on the xmas comp you'll have to dislodge me! i've just lined up my new digital camera for xmas so there's no stopping me now!when are you planning to fish 27th or 1st?I'll be fishing on the 1st and i'll be on the water at midnight
  6. i've just had a read of the coarse post regarding kayaking in thier precious ponds and i must say that judging by thier replies i would rather go fishing with osama bin laden-he's bound to be more friendly
  7. never tried pond fishing-sounds about as much fun as sitting on a bag of nails! :
  8. chill out yaketty! I think the only reason there were no replies yet is because we all think your idea was perfection and could not be bettered, well I do anyway

I totally agree with yaketty get some more money saved up and buy something more yak friendly.I bought a palm touring at 80 quid and it is sooooo comfortable. If you spend as many hours on the water as a lot of people on this site do it is a worthwhile investment. It is after all SAFETY EQUIPMENT
  10. so what do we reckon lads £60 o.k. price for the full fleece body layer or do you know of a better deal?
  11. managed to get some of the wilderness system coiled leashes from woodmill canoeing centre in southampton.i think the shackles look weak and likely to fail under pressure.i think i will use them as rod leashes and try different positions for my o.k.leash afterall safety is number 1 priority.thanks to all for valuable advice.
  12. anyone know where i can buy a coiled paddle/rod leash in the u.k. i've got a o.k.paddle leash at the moment but i,m not really happy with it
  13. anyone want to swap with my caper angler!
  14. just seen the scupper pro report in this months BFM looks like a good bit of kit at half the price of some other manufacturers yaks
  15. simon do you really wear a helmet & visor in your yak?
  16. ha! ha! wife problems? I don't have them she lives in germany.Only thing is she's coming over this weekend so all fishing cancelled. It's a funny saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder"--if she was absent on saturday i would probably be much more fond of her especially after the 3 smoothounds last saturday
  17. can't go next weekend the trouble & strife is coming over from Germany for the weekend but i'm up for it the weekend of the5&6 of nov i,it needs to be pretty calm though
  18. fished soton water on saturday.launched at hamble point, fished the mouth of the hamble for 1 hour no takes.paddled over to fawley, caught 3 pouting of about 1/2 pound apiece including a double then got into trouble for bieng too close to the refinery,i didn't know that you must stay 120 yards away!do they own the water too or what? anyway i paddled on to calshot and caught 3 smoothounds -great!never caught one before had two on rag and a big one (i think it looked pregnant)on a squid pennel.everything went back and i paddled back to hamble point a very happy bunny
  19. whoops i forgot my penn senator 3/0 !!
  20. i use a penn powerstick 20-30 class with an abu6500c3 for the heavier work and for the light work i use a shakespeare 1 piece 6ft euroboat 12 to 20 class beautiful whippy thing it is and only 15 quid coupled with a shimano nexave 400 spinning reel
  21. ollie, got a palm touring with twin front pockets,it is really comfortable, don't forget that unlike a wetsuit that you may only wear in summeror a drysuit that you may only choose to wear in winter a PFD you will wear all year long so save your money and buy the best, you won't regret it
  22. i,ve used a tool similar to the one in the link many years ago and i must say it is not easy to get a good job.most of the repairs looked like large varicose veins!
  23. i read somewhere that the malibu extreme weighed 80lbs,does the x factor weigh a lot too? if i wanted one i'd start pumping iron now .thats the best thing about having a caper you can carry it with one hand!
