    seatbox ?

cheers poledark but are there any advantages to the shaky over a wood/fibreglass seatbox?

    seatbox ?

i know we have recently had a seatbox question but.... i have been thinking about getting a box so i keep my pole/light coarse seperate from my carp gear. i need storage for pole winders ordinary floats and end tackle,2 reels and the usual end tackle. just pleasure not match. i need something capable of holding 15 stone of me for the day. i have narrowed it to either a shakespeare box accesary tray /deep tray and top box at £94 and getting a leg set later,or a max performance 5 drawer seatbox, four front one across, winder storage under seat.removeable base, pole seat and round leg set at £100. my question is does anybody have either or have a good reason to go one way or another? would a shaky take an octoplus leg set and if so what size? i believe the drawers on the seatbox are wooden and was wondering how long they last in a fishing environment. any advice will be most wellcome.
  4. £250 must be £200 to see arsenal and £50 to see man utd
  5. sorry newt, it would be funny but as a gritter driver who has had someone tell me i was losing my load ,i didnt laugh like the others probably will.
  6. well if he is using nice slim light rods i would say the 8000gte. this is because on shimanos website it is said to be 520grms and the 6000gte is 550grms !! also the 8000 holds more line making distances easier to cast. you also have the old saying "a big baitrunner can do a little job,but a little baitrunner cannot do a big job"
  7. no idea what they are like but badger are advertising a 5 draw seat box with 4 bar footplate, feeder/pole arm , aluminum side tray and groundbait side tray for £129.99. they look good in the picture but no idea what there really like. it has been said that some badger gear is good some not very good. sounds cheap compared to others but a lot of them must be horifically overpriced.
  8. it said in the paper today that the insurance companys want to get in on the camera revenue. they proposed to up the premium for a single offence with 3 points by about £192 and a second and 6 by about £500. and if you dont tell them about it and they find out if you claim your insurance is void
  9. well we didn`t go out but we have to be there for 4am saturday. hi cranfield, i know what you`re saying, but them in the office get there forecast from a different place to the telly and even bbc and itv cannot agree. and believe me the early evening "presalt" is murder for us,the idea is to salt 2 hours before a frost but as you say more ends up on the verge. evening gritting is supposed to prevent and morning clear. you would almost think at the end of the winter they had to clear any surplus financial allocation to avoid central government from cutting the following years allocation and adz is correct claims can be biiiiig the logs and paper work are ever growing, satelite navigation is being fitted to the trucks for accurate records, also we have sensors to scream at you if no salt is coming out and a new system to automaticly adjust for road width is just coming out. amounts are closly controlled by weighbridge to protect the environment. its far more complicated than when i first started.
  10. officially gritting in norfolk doesnt start till monday (27th oct) but i got a call earlier asking me to be in the depot at 4am tommorow(friday 24th) its a "be prepared" call so we might not grit tommorow, but if you see a gritter please remember to be patient because, 1,we have to go at 30 mph ,40 on dual carriageway while gritting. 2,we have to spin it out to the road width we cannot turn it down. 3,if pushing a pushchair and you see a gritter turn it away from the road. 4,don`t flash headlights at a gritter to try and get them to turn it down, its more likely to be turned to maximum! 5,don`t drive at gritters if you think they should not be there,we are told when we must go. besides your car is not as tough as the truck and its not our property 6,wash UNDER your car regularly to clear salt before it rusts.
  11. thanks for the warning judy. i thought either the nhs had been overstretched last year or expecting a bad year, as for the first time since being diagnosed with asthma at the age of 17 they wrote to me with a list of dates to go and get a flu jab.i am 35 now. i have never bothered before but it made me think and i got mine done. for anyone who is worried about needles dont be i was talking with the nurse and it was a case of, "you can go now" "what about the jab?" "you've had it" "oh ok thanks, see you next year bye"
  12. if you had`nt would they have been easier to apply? although rather shocking
  13. sorry i couldnt get back sooner,i just meant with the scandisk to see if there was a problem maybe with the disk itself. i am glad you are sorted, but i cannot see the point of that program other than to hide sensitive data. if it is going to leave so much rubish either theres a setting that needs to be changed so it writes rubbish then deletes it away or its rubbish software. who wrote it? microsoft?
  14. have you done any work with video? have you run scan disk with surface test activated?
  15. its not likely you will do any physical damage to the pc by reinstalling windows. it is possible though that windows will give you a migraine. 2 weeks ago i upgraded my harddrives and am only just about getting my dual boot system back how i like it. to say windows doesnt always do as it should is an understatement and all the virus scanners etc add even more headaches. remember to only attempt it when your in a good mood. write down all internet connection details save all importent data including favorites, make sure you have all hardware drivers as many are not in older windows if not download some and save on a seperate disk. then check you have it all twice before starting. then it should work fairly ok. good luck.
  16. cheers newt i`ll try and get the download, try and get "me" on then try and sort xp. i can see what your saying about the compatability bit but every time i have tried it it has failed to run the programs.
  17. hi i was wondering if anyone can help with a problem i have. i have been running 2 drives one xp one millenium (some of the kids games hate xp). i have put in a new drive for xp (bigger) and swapped to using the old xp drive for millenium. only problem is i cannot install millenium,it just says not enough space to install. this is on a 12 gig drive freshly formatted! help please !!!
  18. good point steve,as we can all see what central government is like and i work for a council there is very little between them!
  19. sorry guys but i hate that "i dont mind paying more if....." attitude. all the politicians say is woa yeah another sucker to rip off!! we pay the highest fuel tax yet get the least amount spent on roads. i live in a village with few "extras" where as the parents live in a city pay less council tax on a bigger property and get loads of stuff. i always thought a government was elected to do what the people(majority)wanted? not have to do what, one up himself priminister thinks we should do!! what i am saying is all the time we have the i am willing to pay brigade the country is stuffed,we need a united enough is enough approach to show the politicians they have to bring about change and reduce cost not create more and more pen pushing jobs. 20. i think it is terrible that this has happened and i hope it does not make judy decide to stop posting. also i think the person should be named not only to convict the guilty but to protect the innocent. let me explain this thread has made me read the thread that includes the picture and reading through it you can easily get an idea who is guilty. but would that assumption be right or wrong? the only way forward is to name the guilty to avoid wrong assumptions.
  21. hi all,i have been thinking of getting a skip in to clear a load of rubbish out,ans although i have not got a price for it yet i have been told round here a midi skip was £75 over a year ago. and as the old grey matter has been slowly stirring i started wondering how the prices on midi skips vary across the uk? so if you have had one lately how much did it cost?
  22. all the utilitys and council should have plans of there own pipes ducts cables and stuff. however councils are good at putting drainage in and not having a record of it so planning a new system to cure the flooding where the original system was never cleaned as little as 4 years later.they even refuse to believe the people who put the original system in until you uncover it all!!!! and as for utilitys they have reasonable plans for the most part but theres still a lot missing from them. a lot of these drainage problems occur when they build a new estate adjacent to existing houseing or industrial areas. they put in a nice drainage system for the estate but, then it is connected into the drainage system of the older estate which was only designed to take the waste from that estate. hence 12 inches of waste trys to go into 6 inches of pipe finds it cannot and floods till the rain stops. how much did they have to pay for the planning permission?
  23. one of the blokes i work with from time to time was telling me how he got caught short out in the middle of nowhere,he checked about then disappeared into a small wood.he had his trousers down crouching at the base of a tree just started when from nowhere this labrador appears and starts sniffing round his bits, desperatly trying to get rid of it he then hears its female owner calling it and coming in after it! he had to resort to a swift whack to persuade it to leave.
