  1. And a Happy Christmas 2U2 m8, and all the other wee SW Yakkers. Currently enjoying more of an indoor life than normal (or healthy). Hmmm Shall be heading to Sennen with Musket this Sunday tho. Rock n Roll Martin
  2. Snatcher I can't believe you didn't even mention my name. Especially after I sweated blood and tears paddling your Tope bait out a quarter of a mile through a force 8 at Terally Bay!!! Trust you're keeping well mate and behaving yourself up north. It really is a cracking spot, especially over at Port Logan. Loadsa Pollack action and the site of my PB
  3. Thanks for popping the post up Jon. I haven't the expertise to fiddle with pictures. A very memorable day indeed, and I feel honoured to belong to such a prestigious Club Thanks for the info HM. Elusive hey....that'll be the last Golden I catch then Tried again today but only landed a schoolie. Still fun tho, even as the rain started and I lost sensation in my fingers. Roll on spring
  4. Well done Jon Hats off to you M
  5. Interesting stuff MC. Great pics. Amazing whats around
  6. Great report and pics Greywulff. Looks like you got yourself a prime location there
  7. Thanks again ChrisW for sorting the meet/site etc. Good to catch up. Glad some of the guys had decent catches...shame it was just Pollack 4me this time. Some great pics Gilbo. Didn't get a chance to say hello out on the water...next time. Yeah, nice pic Musket, but less of the OLD please. That silver crusting on my hairline is only salt Good luck on your camping course Great BBQ and cricket skills tho! Both the wee beast and I had a great time. Although he wasn't best pleased at spending 7hrs out on the water. Poor chap was missing his rabbit sniffing. Roll on the next adventure. Martin
  8. Thanks for the details Gilbo. Tremendous! Can't wait. Thanks again Chris for sorting the camping arrangements. See you down there Friday evening Martin
  9. Having owned/used both the P13 and P15, I really don't think there's much in it. I'm 6' and have had little problem in either. I paddle/fish a fair bit with Musket (P13) and compared with my P15, there really isn't much in it over the shorter distances (<3MILES). But to be honest it's not easy to gauge, and so what if you're 10secs behind the lead boat. I only own a P15 due to leaky P13's at the time of purchase....but that's another story..which has now been sorted by the way .
  10. Like Nifty states: wait til you can afford a rigid. I had the same dilemma when I started out. The fact is that the rigid is far more practical and safer. However, having stated that I am now thinking of adding an inflatable to my fleet. The thought of being able to walk in/down to a quiet, unapproachable cove/bay, with an inflatable on my back (weather conditions favourable, and all health and safety boxes ticked...before you safety gurus start spouting) sounds quite appealing
  11. Well done chaps. Most envious. Like you've said Jon "species targeted..species caught" Excellent. Nice pics 2. Martin
  12. Lovely pic YB. If you could book a similar day for the future Meadfoot adventure this spring/summer that would be great Reminds me of the sea colour over in the West Indies. Ah sweet memories on the grey funnel line Martin
  13. Congratulations Chris. Wonderful news Martin
  14. What this???? Two shifts in a row?? Best the South Hams boys show em how it's done No doubt that's put the kiss of death on my results for the meet (yeah ok Chris...again). Mart
  15. Hi Chris Got the time all booked off and looking forward to the meet. Yes we have a tent. Martin
  16. Phew, there are some flatties left in British waters. Nice pics and well done guys. As soon as this wind drops....
  17. Hi Chris It just so happens that I have the last 2wks booked off in May Would be delighted to join the adventure providing the site is (small) dog friendly. Yes the wee beast will be joining us during our daytime paddles (PFD and all). Cheers Martin
  18. Thanks again Rob and Chris for organising the event. Most enjoyable, even if I did blank. Great pics and write up too. Wish you hadn't caught me asleep at the wheel though. ...Well it was early Martin
  19. Hi guys Really looking forward to the meet. See you down at the harbour! Martin
  20. Hi guys, would like to make it 6! Sounds good, if you don't mind putting up with a fairly new chap. Got a night shift to crack on the 24th, so will probably only have a half day bobbing about Had hoped to get out in the Bay with Yakerbass prior this RV, but haven't had the chance Martin
  21. Some sound advice being given above. Increasing and maintaining your fitness with a softly, softly approach is spot on, but let's not forget technique is also vital. If you can, and it probably goes without saying, venture out with an experienced "buddy" and learn the various skills required to paddle correctly. Correct technique will save you alot of tears. Economy of effort, such as using your larger muscle groups, will enable you/your body to enjoy the experience over a much longer duration, without over-taxing the ticker Snatcher of course is from the North East where they breed them rock hard, so was able to paddle through the hurricaine at LuceBay on Muskets Prowler without any probs
  22. Nice report and pics Snatcher. Like Musket said "..takes us right back to the lads week". Starting to have serious thoughts about escaping back up there again and chasing some big pollack. These little Devonian fish just dont come up to scratch any more When you getting your kayak anyway? Reckon you're a natural man! Martin
  23. --> QUOTE(Norm B @ Aug 18 2006, 03:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL. I imagine scoring is quite easy...it's done on a SCALE. Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll stick to the Kayak side in future...honest
  24. So he does work for the News of the World
  25. Absolutely amazing! I'm very impressed. No way those pics are fake. What a great job to have.....even if its only for a little while Reckon I'd have to invest in a pair of brown cordroy trousers if I got a job offer
