  1. so, I am happy as an individual to pay my freshwater licence, and take nothing home, I pay for my Fyke net licence`s for what I make out of them, all above board, why should we not pay for sea rod licence? commercials will have to pay a licence fee soon, how can we be excluded? its all cast in stone while its being debated here, FACT, crumbs we are going to pay extra for bins to be emptied so why should we be greived
  2. been there and done it, I know a bit , certainly not all, and have an avid interest in both camps, I say it as it is, will not be popular, but hey,ho, its the truth

  3. stavey, I know some body asked you the same thing befor...hundreds of under tens??? how do you arrive at that figure?? well a quick way is to call your local defra office, wheres yours? pompy? where ever, it does not matter, and ask how many under ten boats are in your area, and what type of fishing they persue, (that WILL surprise you, ) I promise you where ever you are it will not be hundreds local to you, try it, freedom of information, and all that, are you aware that out of the total allowable catch around the whole of the UK that 96% is held by 1300 licence holders over 10meters, of which up to a quarter of them are not on working boats, and are used as a comodidty to rent and trade, with any EU partner, not bad for a national resource, AND now we come to the remaining 4% of the fish left swimming as TAC, 5300 under ten boats, break this down, lets start at the bottom, the "wanabees" part timers, that play, the sharp ones that know if you own a registered fishing dingy, you can buy your petrol and say you are putting it in your outboard, and claim your duty back .....and the 2 family cars run for next to nothing!!!!!better than chancing pink deisel!! then the many boats that are just inactive, which narrows things down considerably, NOW devide that around the entire coast line of the UK where do your hundreds on your BIT of coast come from ??? please feel free to e.mail me with a phone No it will make an interesting conversation,
  4. Why oh Why should the likes of you even worry about the thorn backs being caught by the few boats left persuing a seasonal fishery? over the years the liners out of LT working the indefatigable bank (Lincolneshire to you) have caught hundreds of tons, no, probably thousands, of tons of skate and you know nothing of it or about it, what has your income or your overtime got to do with any fisherman? answer.. nothing, live and let live,

  6. Oh well, there you go thanks any way chaps, lucky old those that can fish it
  7. people say you should never go back, but truth is I fished this place 48 yrs ago as a kid and it has a lot of memories, and I have made my mind up to have a few days down there just for that, can anybody tell me what its like / is it under any club control? do any of you know of another web page /link that might be usefull?
  8. Going back to glenk...having flicked around a few topics ...whats with the nuggest bit??? batteries?? I, as an individual, with my own veiws, saw fit to reply to a chap who posted, and my comments were to his thread/topic...........not you, perhaps I am wrong, are you a moderater? do you own the site?[thought Elton did] charge your battery ha,ha, u got a ray gun then???? your issues with B/T, are between you, get over it and move on,...... but he did have many valid points, not all, granted, but a good many, I gave up ages ago trying to make sense of the spat between you two, I do not have a clue what has happened in recent months, something grim no doubt, a rattle dropped from the pram perhaps, but go easy with your version of running this site, if somebody posts and you do not like it, you have the option of not replying, equaly, say why you do not like a post,............ sorry for coming in on the back of you topic Steve,
  9. Hello Steve, for my three hapeth you try to take the middle ground, ...not easy, and for all the effort its worth.. its not, looking in as i do, its a mine feild,....... other than that....I have ten days with the family literaly on the beach in New Jersey soon, and fantastic fishing, any thing from tuna to flounder!!!
  10. Hi Steve, I look in on here now and again but still can not beleive the jaundaced veiws and pure venum from the arm chair critics...or should that be key board?? any way, BB was at a meeting very recently with 3 commercials, terrible people that they are, and his advisers were put to shame for giving him the wrong advice prior to and during the meeting, even to the point where he took the the pen out of the hand of the DEFRA idiot and his note book and started taking his own notes,!!!!!!!! I am sure my source will not mind me quoteing a statement made to DEFRA at the table.................." the burgelars are running the police station" ....."you have given a national resource away and have mismanaged communities livelyhoods, they never defended the statement, upon leaving the room the defra monkeys said##**@@~~~~###### why was that said? ....the truth, was the reply, I know its gone off your MLS question,.....but do not knock the chap, its the defra advisers that are looking after shrinking jobs that are to blame, perhaps you are being ever so slightly clouded in your judgements,.....and as a complete aside........come back Binatone, or was he shoved out to apease an individual with a few freinds vews???? if its a one sided debating site.....then it should show a biased warning
