  5. Hi woot I fish down the Haven from a kayak and just took delivery of a Scupper Pro last week, haven't had chance to use it yet but when you have a chance pop along to one of the meets and have a look ATB Tom
  6. Hi woot I keep my P13 outside covered with a tarpaulin sheet and haven't noticed any probs. As for chaining it to the house through one of the scupper holes can't see a problem there either, should be able to get quite a big chain/wire through them. Not sure of the depth of the Scupper but i'm sure someone will tell you soon enough HTH Tom

  8. Hi Rich Thanks for the offer mate but i'm still not fully recovered yet don't think i would be up to a paddle from H/west to P/dock and back If i do venture out to try the yak it will be just a little pootle about someplace for an hour or so. ATB Tom

    Paddle length

Thanks Darnsarf and Simon for your help I'll try the new kayak (delivery tomorrow) with my current paddle and see how i get on, then if still not happy will have to think about either fitting a spigot and altering the feather and perhaps length or purchase another paddle Thanks again Tom

    Paddle length

Just tried Yakdiver's rough calculation for paddle length and the tip of the paddle came halfway up my palm, so it was short of my finger tip by 6" which would mean that i would need a longer paddle, i'll have to wait a few days till i get the yak and try it out as at the moment i feel a shorter paddle may be required as i shall be seated lower and the kayak has a narrower beam to the P13. ATB Tom ps: in an earlier post i put % when infact i meant degrees but can't find a symbol for that

    Paddle length

Thanks for the link SpeciMan, having read it i'm even more confused Just popped into the shed and measured my paddle it's 222cm tip of blade to tip of blade but the feather if that is the angle of blades to one another is 90% which i think Simon said is not good, never having paddled before last year i just bought the one the guy in the shop recomended. I have noticed that i have a job paddling in a straight line, but after reading the debate realize that this may be because of the paddle, how do i get measured for a paddle? Is this something i could do myself, also i'm left handed so have a left handed paddle. Tom
