when i go there trout fishing there are always dozens of bivvies. so i presume it must be good. good luck.

Surely this is a wind up, cig. filters. Please don't give the anti brigade more ammo. My club would throw you out for leaving a cig. stump on the bank never mind in a fishes mouth. All the thousands of flies around, cig. stumps? come on tell me its a joke!!

thanks for the replies. as it happens the club i belong to (paas) own the fishing upstream of pool bridge. i was thinking of trying for chub and dace on the dane in chesire.

went to lomond lst july.the midges ruined the holiday. no repellant worked for me. i suggest you buy a midge hood from one of the local shops if you want to fish. good luck. btw they don't appear when the sun is out.

for a start buy a ticket for the ribble at the garage next to the tickled trout hotel.further up the road(1/2 mile on to Blackburn) there is a ticket stretch called 'the bonsai' both are good chub waters with a good chance of a barbel.good luck

thanks for the replies.i have heard that gudgeon are good when fried alive like they do with sardines on those p!ss up cruises in spain..you know ,straight from the water and into the pan.

cooked a nice 2lb perch today.tasted good but full of bones.any ideas on best way to fillet perch and cut out the bones? ps pike taste slightly better.
