What type of line for centerpins?

Personally I prefer mono any standard mono will do for most purposes I tend to use Diawa sensor its very reliable and cheap as chips.

There will be others like Chris Plumb who tend to prefer braid. Both lines have their advantages and disadvantages but it's down to a question of personal taste.

For me I prefer the smoothness of mono especially if I feel the need to make a long cast. Both types of line float which is good, braid has virtually no stretch which can be an advantage on the strike though I have never found this a problem with mono I find any tangles easier to get out of mono untangling braid is a nightmare especially on a cold winters day!

So you pays your money and takes your choice. Personally I would suggest start with mono and the at a later date when you have done a bit of trotting consider a go with braid when you have some spare cash and are more committed to this style of fishing.

yes fireline crystal is good ,nice and smooth and casts well ,and available of e-bay tackle shops but as not all places allow braid i also use flo-cast mono floating line (on e-bay Here) for places like timsbury manor .on the test

one mono line i'll be testing on my pins soon is ultima's power steel line a low dia ,no stretchline .

Tried trotting with the Ultima flo-cast for the first time today and I must say that on first impressions it is the best line that I have used. Good visibility and excellent to mend off the water giving superb float control.. Very impressed, thanks for the reccommendation.
