Ebay Banning Knife Sales

The trouble ebay are having, is that buying knives from there is anonymous, and all too easy.

If you have a look at YouTube/Myspace/Bebo or any of the social networking type sites. Teenagers openly post pictures of themselves posing with knives/swords etc because it's a cool thing to do apparently. See : http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/the_p_wo...000/7852248.stm

If ebay preventing sales of these weapon types makes it slightly harder for them to get hold of a "cool" rambo hunting knife, then i think this can be a good thing. People after legitimately legal knives etc can still obtain them, but face to face, preferably where the vendor can ask for, and see proof of age. A 12 year old isn't likely to be entertained buying dangerous weapons like these from reputable shops.

Just my opinion ;)

Here's what ebay's (in the majority, though some came from other internet sellers) done for my knife rack, I'm more than a little narked that I'll have to look elsewhere for my tools now

For scale the big old Sabatier third from right on the top rack has a 14 inch blade :)

The little fish shaped one nearest your photograph looks bloody lethal :D

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

That'll be a palette knife, for baking and other girly pursuits, never touch it myself, the two pronger is for mugging two very thin people at once.

i'd ban the palette knife it could give you some pretty nasty lift or turn wounds or even a flick wound

in martial arts bending it and thwacking someone could be lethal

I went to school with a kid called Robin Chalk, we had hours of fun with student teachers when we hid the chalk, he gamely took the blame and then when he gave his name, well you can guess the rest :)
